Description for Lincoln Continental 1959
Very rare 1959 Lincoln Continental Mark IV Coupe with the breezeway window. Only 1,703 built according to OLDRIDE.com. The car is mechanically sound. Starts, tops and steers fine. Strong acceleration.Recent work done: NEW battery, rake wheel cylinders, rake shoes, rake hoses, ower steering gearbox, il pan gasket, engine freeze plugs on both sides of engine, ransmission seals, eater hose and clamps. Four nearly brand new tires.
Appearance wise it's a good twenty footer. There is some bubbling at the base of the C pillars and between the rear glass and deck lid. Some of the chrome trim is pitted particularly one side of the trunk edge. Some pitting is just starting on the rear bumper. At least one repaint as the car was originally white.
Interior and exterior lights are fine. Horn has been disconnected as it had a mind of its own and I didn't get around to fixing.
Overall interior is in decent shape. Glass over instrument panel is cracked at the 55 mph marker which I understand is typical for this car/year. Also typical is a slight sag on the leading edge of the dash to the right of the instrument binnacle. Gauges all work.
All power windows work except one power vent window. The passenger side front window is cracked. It still operates. Rear breezeway window works fine.
Leather is in good shape with some discoloration on the white portion predominantly on the driver's side. Carpeting has a tear on the passenger side near the edge with the door.
Overall a solid car that could literally be a daily driver, ow that gas is cheap, s long as you don't mind all of the attention. Needs some cosmetics to make fully presentable.
Car is currently registered in New York State. New York does not title cars of this vintage so the registration is the title and it is transferable.
