Description for Lincoln Continental 1947
Every car has a story and sometimes it is worth telling. Not that it will have any influence on the price but I thought you would like to know. This 1947 Lincoln Continental Coupe was restored some thirty years ago by Dr. Lange in North Wilkesboro, NC. The last NC license plate was 1988. Sometime after the restoration the passenger side window would not work so Dr. Lange took the Lincoln to a local mechanic, who had a shop behind his house in North Wilkesboro. The mechanic got the window down and stored the Lincoln under a shed waiting for Dr. Lange to pick it up. Fast forward twenty years. The Lange family moved from North Wilkesboro to Wilmington, NC. Unfortunately Dr. Lange became very ill and the family thought the Lincoln had been sold. Sometime in February, 2016 Dr. Lange's son got a phone call from the wife of the mechanic in North Wilkesboro and she wanted to know what the son was going to do with the car. Well, you can guess how excited he was. He remembered how nice the Lincoln was after his Dad had it restored and how the V-12 flat head engine ran and sounded so good. He had the Lincoln brought to Wilmington, NC and stored in a warehouse. The weather took it's toll on the Lincoln and we are selling it as a "barn find". It is complete and ready for a total restoration or you could cleanit up and get it running as an original unrestored classic. Study the pictures, you will see rust but it seem to be surface. We could not fine anyplace on the car where the rust has eaten through. The floorpans and trunk pans are in excellent shape. The dirt dobbers in the headliner just add to the nostalgia and character andno charge will be added for this unique addition. If this 1947 Coupe fits your plans then bid on itand good luck. Thankyou for your interest in this authentic piece of American History! It will make someone a nice ride. It could be YOU! Any questions feel free to call me.The car will be for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction anytime. Irving Smith 910-619-1333.
