Description for Lincoln Other 1954
1954 Lincoln Capri 2 Door HardtopThis is a very nice driver quality car. Chrome and stainless trim is all in tact and the bumpers were re chromed in the past few years. This vehicle is not missing pieces.
Interior- Interior is in pretty good shape for the exception of 2 rips on the front seat (pictured). Could be able to be fixed relatively cheap at an upholstery shop. The same goes for the rear seat just on the drivers side (pictured). Other than that the carpet is in good shape as well. White shift knob on lever is broke but have the piece that broke off if you wish to glue it back on.
Tires And Wheels- Wheels are and aftermarket wire wheel with tires that are in great shape (90%)
Transmission- Transmission was rebuilt a few years ago by the previous owner. Shifts very firm.
Motor- The 317 Yblock V8 runs very well. Just like all Yblock motors it does need the typical valve lash adjustment. The motor does slightly burn oil after sitting for a couple days but the more you drive it does go away. It does need valve cover gaskets due to a little bit of seepage.
Brakes- The brakes are great and were recently rebuilt as well including a new master installed.
Paint- The paint was redone on this car a very long time ago and in my eyes was done a it on the cheap side. In my opinion it was poor prep work. The car does not appear to be a bondo bucket tho. It has dings but no big dents whatsoever. For the most part it is pretty straight for its age.
Electrical- This vehicle is still a 6 Volt System. factory Push Button Ignition works great! In my eyes I would replace and upgrade to new 12V system. The power windows work and the power seat works as well. Radio doesn't and there's a ground issue with the rear taillights.
This car drives very well and while we have owned it has made a few long distance trips over 2 hours one way and back. My wife actually drove it by herself on those trips. We had big plans for it but another vehicle came up that she would rather keep more than the Lincoln. I believe that I have describe the vehicle to best of my ability and truthfully so that I do not mislead anyone. If you have any questions and would like to contact me you can do so. If I don't answer your phone call rite away please leave a message and I will return your phone call as soon as I can. (920)-251-2574 My name is Luke. Thank you for looking and have a great day.
