Description for Lincoln Mark Series 1978
One Owner. Sold New in Coleman County. Texas in 1978 1978 Lincoln Mark V Bill Blass Midnight Cordovan with Champagne landau vinyl roof. 6. 6 Litre/400 cubic inch engine and automatic transmission. Original Window sticker with price and options. Some history about the car was sold new from Mahan Ford in Coleman. Texas. I was young boy from a small town and saw the car in the showroom window. I was on my way home. so. I stopped and ask the dealer. if I could take the car home for my dad to see. again small town. The dealer knew my dad. so wasn’t a problem…. the next day the car was in our garage. Yes. Dad bought the car for my mother in January of 1978 and who would have thought at the age of 45 in March of 1978 he passed away from a massive heart attack. From that point on my mother treasured the car even more. She would not think of trading. so for 18 years she proudly drove and maintained the car regularly. Upon her death I had a special attachment to the car as well. so the car became mine. The last 19 years the car has been driven a little here and there. Both of my sons drove the car to their senior proms…very special seeing the beautiful classic car drive up with them and their dates. The car does have 115 thousand miles. due to my mother taking care of her aging parents and trips to the doctor in another town. Then. the last years of her life. she became sick and many trips to the doctor out of town as well. I have mixed emotions about selling the car but I want someone that has the time and desire to continue to maintain. appreciate and enjoy the car as I have over the years. I am planning on down-sizing and might not have a place to store the car in the future. The car has always been garage kept. so it’s a must that I find it a new home. The car has some minor issues on the interior. the clock. miles to empty. electric seats. the makeup mirrors. and a couple of leans cover on interior lights. Other than that the interior is in excellent condition. Ultra-Velour cloth seat covers. original floor mats. As for the exterior. the vehicle has had two minor fender benders in the early 80’s. one on the passenger side door and one on the rear quarter panel. both were very minor and were repaired immediately after it was damaged. As the car aged. my mother wanted the car to look nice so she had the trunk lid repainted…. the paint work was not the best. Since I have had the car. I had the paint touched up. the front and along each side behind the tires and below the side molding…. due to rock chips. Other paint repair I had done was on both front fenders above the pin strips…. due to mechanics scratching the paint with their belt buckle when doing service on the vehicle. There are some door dings and on the passenger door there is a small dent that I have no idea what happened. you can see it if the light is just right. The car drives and handles like it did when it was new. Ice cool air conditioner. Should you have any questions. please feel free to call. My cell phone 325-642-4107.
