Description for Lincoln Continental 1973
For your consideration; My daily driver 1973 Lincoln Continental Mark 4. I found the Mark 4 at an Estate Sale in Braintree Massachusetts in a heated garage where it sat for 22 years. The Story was that the elderly women went out to start her Mark 4 and there was a problem with the started and she hung up the keys and drove her husbands car and there the Mark 4 sat until I rescued it. The Mileage when I bought it was 19,343 it currently has 23,110 miles which I believe to be original. The 460 4 barrel engine is strong and runs like a dream. I would bet that a compression test would validate its actual mileage, I never had it done. I drive it daily and it starts every time even though the cold winter months. Every thing about this Mark 4 is original all the way down to the Hub Caps. Here is a list of things I have don, keep in mind that each item I repaired or replace has around 3,000 miles or less. The Mark 4 has a current Massachusetts Inspection Sticker and will have no problem getting a new sticker in August. I am revising the description to add that the undercarriage and frame is mostly rust free and straight! There is some surface rust that should be easy to take care of, the rear quarters is the area that I would think needs to be replaced because of the rust. The Headliner is original and is in excellent conditio, however there is a small rip that is not in the picture, this should be able to be repaired with out any problems.

There is so many other things that I have done to get this gem to the point where it is as reliable as my 2009 Subaru Tribeca. There is more to do that I have not done as of yet but they do not affect the daily operation of the Mark 4. I have not reconnected the cruise control, the air conditioning unit has not been addressed. There is obviously rust issues but back in the 70's they undercoated a lot of vehicles, this Mark 4 has been undercoated by "Tuff Coat". Because the Mark 4 sat for so long the some of the gaskets dry out and once you start driving they need to be replaced. The valve cover gaskets need replacing and there is a small leak at the transmission housing gasket, neither of these are leaking much.. If you need more pictures or have any questions please feel free to contact me. Please make sure you get all the information you need. I will assist in shipping.
I wanted to ad, all of the repairs done to the Mark 4 have been done by certified technicians. I have all my repairs done at my local garag, by some grate old time mechanics. I thought you should know this fact.
