Description for Lincoln Continental 1970

You are bidding on a pretty rare. low production number car. #580 of 21. 32 Mark 3's made in 1970! This car is a great example of how amazing these cars were back then and still are today! The market for these "Luxury Hot Rods" is on fire right now since they remain reachable in price comparatively to the similarly powered muscle cars of the era. So in other words. The Mark 3 is a great bang for the buck! Collectors are scrambling to get their hands on these great investments before the prices soar upward with the rest of them. This body style also offers a wide range of custom ability's and easy to find OEM/ after market replacement options for the engine. body and suspension while keeping the true timeless character of the interior finish intact. This particular car stays true to that ideal while offering a range of options for a daily driver or in the right shop. a take notice show stopper! This Mark 3 is an almost all original. nbsp;partially customized car that needs very little to daily drive and enjoy or a little more money and time for great car shows. With only 77. 94 miles. this Mark 3 was tucked away for some time in an obviously climate controlled or well kept garage due to the near lack of rust and organic collection of anything beyond a light layer of dust. The exterior paint appears to have been re-sprayed at some time in the past and in my opinion. done cheaply. Its fine with the normal and not so normal scrapes and dings that it has and with a good polish of wax and no one outside of a show judge would be the wiser but if you do want to take this all the way. it will have to be re-painted along with all of the chrome. Your not paying for a show car here though! There is plenty of meat on this bone for its new owners and could definitely be a money maker in the right hands. The car was completely original when I bought it. I then put over $5. 00 in custom wheels. Lexoni low profile tires. suspension. brakes and front end parts and upgrades. The tires have less than 50 miles on them. The wheels are brand new staggered 22's Status's in the rear and 21's in the front. I had them custom painted with the gold to match the pin stripes and they somehow got a few minor scrapes and scratches. I have no idea how. The front was lowered 3 & 3/4in and the front 2 & 1/4 in. This aggressive muscle stance look totally sets the car off so be prepared to wave back at people while driving it because it takes the entire stage. It has the original Ford AC system and I can feel air coming out of the vents when its on but I could not tell you if the entire system needs more work besides the normal conversion to R134. The Cartier Clock does not work. Also the rib blow horn doesn't work although I have heard it honk once. During my attempt to fix it. I broke the front part of the steering wheel that controls that function. I also had over $1. 00 worth of certified electric wiring work done for all of the window switches. The wiring itself is all good now but it does need new window switches. As of right now. the driver window goes up and down and a few of the power seat functions work as well. The auto electric mechanic unfortunately left the remaining windows either partially shut or in the down position during his testing and I have no way of closing them without the new switches. Please take note of that if you plan on having it shipped in the open on a rainy day. The car also comes with its original wheel covers. a real fire extinguisher that looks to be a really cool option from the factory or dealer. a bumper jack. a brand new full sized spare and a little starting fluid for your convenience. It also has the original floor mats. 8 track player. build sheet. signed owners manual and some receipts for the work I've had done to it. The wipers and fluid spray work although a little slow. The lights. signals and vacuum front light covers also work. Has a new battery but its not holding a charge for too long so either the alternator isn't doing well or something is draining the power slowly. The transmition is great aside from the gear placement needing to be adjusted or tightened up. In any gear. the display or gears is off some so if your in D it may show closer to 2nd gear on the steering Colum display and so forth. I believe that to be a minor fix. This car appears to have had an undercoating which saved it from a lot of potential rust damage so that's really great! I also believe the gas tank gauge float to be off. There is a few small leaks of various kinds but no antifreeze. Appears to be normal for its age and condition. It does have a power antenna but I have not ever seen it function when the radio is on. Interior wise its pretty fantastic. The headliner looks showroom good. the seats too except some driver seat wear. There is however some interior fit and trim that will need to be addressed with some things maybe only needing a few clips or the right screw. Very acceptable and fixable for this car to be top notch. Personally. I believe the interior to be one of its strong suits. One more thing. nbsp;as you may notice in the photos. the original owner had bumper guards added which I've never seen before. They may be a dealer accessory. I was told they were put on so the owner could bump into other cars while parking in the big city and they helped better protect the car. I think they look great but they can be removed if you prefer! I cant think of much else but if you have any questions please feel free to ask and good luck!!
