Description for Lincoln Continental 1968
A rare triple black 1968 Lincoln Continental Coupe! A survivor car with nearly 100% original interior (Dash appears to be a replacement), original drivetrain, and original metal. Car has just under 85,000 original miles.
Lincoln built just 9,415 two door coupes compared to 29,719 four door sedans. This car has nearly 100% original paint. The seats have normal wear for a 50 year old car, but are extremely comfortable and clean. All glass except for the windshield and back are original to the car. I've spent over $11,000 on a completely new suspension, exhaust, break, carburetor rebuild,AC compressor and complete mechanical inspection of every moving part. Everything works except the radio and clock Power everything! Power seats and windows and they all work. Lots of low points in the pain, chips, cracks. This is what one would expect from a totally original nearly untouched car from 1968 that has been driven. Optioned with factory Cruise Control!
The car really runs great, and I have put around 5,000 on the car in the last 3+ years I have owned it. There is some minor surface rust on the passenger door hinges, the underneath is solid with no issues. This is what I call an excellent driver survivor car. A little fun fact for you that wonder why the tail lights are missing the metal cross hatch. Pennsylvania was the only state did the DOT did not allow any obstructions over the tail lights. Lincoln had to design these specially for PA sold cars. It was a rather rare "Pennsylvania" edition as the car was first sold in PA. Please see below for details.
Electrical:
Everything aside from the clock and attenta work. All windows and seats, lights work. The passenger side control panel does not work fully but the driver side does. This is most likely just a bad relay.
Engine Compartment:
Engine is originaland runs excellent. Carburetor was rebuilt few thousand miles ago. The only thing that is not original is a new AC compressor.
Interior:
Interior is nearly 100% original (I believe the dash may be a replacement but am not sure as it is in near perfect condition.) Driver seat is most worn with rips and tears, the passenger side is less offensive and the back seats are pefect for the age. Comes with 8 track player (currently removed)
Exterior:
Mostly original paint. Plenty of low points and wear in the paint but no rust (aside from passenger side door hinge area, which is just surface rust) Paint is a driver 1 and nothing more. Chrome is OK but lower portion of back bumper has some minor rust.
