Description for Lincoln Continental 1975
Even the most hard to impress classic car aficionados will have no choice but to give this 1975 Lincoln Continental Limousine an admiring nod as it passes by. Endlessly cool and well-preserved, it captures the top tier styling sensibilities of its era perfectly - it would make a fitting entry into any automotive time capsule. It doesn't take much imagination to envision the stir this limo will create as it cruises down the boulevard. With its... ornate rectangular grille positioned at the front of a seemingly never-ending hood and some substantial real estate separating the pairs of front and rear doors to leave no doubt that this is a stretch limo in the most literal sense, this vintage Lincoln's head turning ability is beyond question. While it could do with a trip to the paint booth for some freshening up and a little focused attention to bring it back to its deserved former glory, it packs plenty of visual impact just as it stands. Its assembly of brightwork looks solid, its exterior alignment very much on point and the vinyl top capping its substantial cabin is clean. A significant amount of a limo's appeal lies in its ability to provide luxurious accommodations for its passengers that includes a nice view of the sky when they so choose - the sunroof on board here is in good working order, so consider that box checked. Considering that this lengthy classic has never seen the inside of an upholstery shop during its substantial lifetime, its blue interior - which mixes leather and cloth to great effect - has withstood the test of time pretty well. You can see the expected signs of pronounced wear on the front seat and there are other areas strewn about the cockpit that could use some refurbishment, but for a survivor, it offers a lot of pluses. In particular, the passenger area in back really looks sharp - its velour covered seating, as well as the carpeting below don't show the pronounced signs of wear you'd expect and while the entertainment center will require some attention to get back up and running, as far as aesthetics are concerned this portion of the car is ready to delight your friends and family right away, and the sheer impact of being surrounded by so much vintage style certainly can't be overstated. The collection of woodgrain accents is in consistently good shape and those finishing details that make such a difference in a car's presentation - the door panels, interior hardware and the like - are also well-represented here. Given the generous proportions and considerable curb weight of this Continental, it would take an engine with some substantial displacement to propel it properly and the 460 cubic inch V8 standing by beneath the hood certainly qualifies. It's likely the original powerplant and is in fin form - armed with a 4-barrel carb, it fires up promptly and pulls with gusto as it teams with a smooth shifting 3-speed automatic C6 transmission to form a road ready drivetrain. This vintage limo delivers a strong driving experience in all respects - in adding to its substantial power, its brake system is in good working order, its ride as smooth as you could want and its power steering feels impressively tight and precise. This eye-catching ride cruises on a set of 15" stock wheels wrapped with Nexen N'Priz tires. The undercarriage on this lengthy Lincoln is in very solid shape. With its substantial nostalgia-inducing powers and strong running condition, this 1975 Lincoln Continental Limousine would be a great addition to any collector's garage. Call today!
