Description for Lincoln Continental 1963

Vehicle Details

I have owned this 1963 Lincoln Continental since 198, ye, soon to be almost 40 years . The first 15 years I owned the car it was just a weekend car and taking it to car shows. It was in very nice condition, never a show winne, but still very nic, ran very well and the top worked perfectly.

I had bought the car in Florida and brought it up to New York and kept it there garaged, using it just to have fun with and taking it to car shows.

Just before I moved to Florida over 20 years ag, I had an issue with the top, from what I remember it was the “flapper” that wouldn’t extend .

Once I moved to Florida, the plan was to have the top looked at and have it repaired. Unfortunately, life got in the way and it has just sat for the last 20+ years. After a whil, I said I would take care of it when I retire, well it’s about that time and I have too many projects to take care of and so I must sadly pass it on to someone else.

The good part of this is the car is pretty much untouched. It was a car worthy enough to go to a car show and then to my garage and that’s where it has sat. There are no missing trim pieces et, so no need to search for anything . There had been some body work done to it before I owned it and after almost 40 years the work is bubbling up and you can see from the picture where the work was done. The car has not been started for about 13 year, the battery is dated 2009. I have not attempted to start i, it will need to have all the things done to it that a car sitting that long will need. However, when it was last runnin, it ran very well.

It is whit, with red interio, interior is in pretty good conditio, but the person who owned it 40 years ago put in new vinyl seatin, that I was going to change but never did. After all that time the tires on the car was an absolute mess. What I have done is put on a brand new set of 215/75/14 trailer tire, just so it can be moved easier.

It has not run for all this time so it will need to be towed. The windows are down and I can’t put them u, I don’t know what the problem is. They and the power seats and power door locks worksed fine when I was driving the car. The car did not come with air conditioning but the previous owner added an aftermarket unit but added the factory vents on the dash so from inside the car it looks factory except for the nameplates on the actual dash that doesn’t include the side condition setting.
