Description for Lincoln Continental 1965
1965 Lincoln Continental Convertible. Beautiful paint and Interior. Original 48. 71 miles car. I am the 3rd registered owner of the car. Car was originally bought by a gentleman out of Illinois. I have the original manual with his name on it. It was then sold to a gentleman out of Ohio who brought it to CA in 1986. I have the Ohio plates. Car arrived in CA and was never driven. Just sat until it was purchased by my friend for me. Extremely low numbering car. This car was produced on the 28th production day in August of 1964. Unfortunately Ford/Lincoln did not keep production counts between convertibles and hard tops so there is no way of knowing what actual production number convertible this was. I called Ford to verify and research and they told me that. Car has an original 430 engine. Fully equipped car as you can imagine (most Lincolns were). Runs and drives. Car is as straight as it can be. Paint is a few years old but looks amazing. Interior is perfect but does need kickpanels. Top is gorgeous. There are a few minor issues with the car (as you can imagine) and I am trying to describe them to the best of my ability. 1. Top stopped working today. I went to close the top to take pictures and when I went to re-open it. it went up 6 inches or so and stopped. I do not know why. I am trying to figure it out now. Hopefully I can before it sells as I know it will affect the value. I was able to get the top all of the way down and trunk closed. 2. Speedometer needle does not move. Mileage does operate but the needle does not. I have a cluster that will go along with the car. 3. Windows are slow going up and down. They all do work. but are slow. 4. Power door locks do not operate 5. Carb. needs to be adjusted. Car runs rich. 6. Engine needs a tune up and timing adjusted. 7. I found a few rust spots on the car. When I mean a few that's exactly what I mean. Battery box area. lower corner panels by the wheel wells (both sides) Silver dollar in size. Seat mounts under the car on the driver’s side where it connects to the rocker panel (very minimal). I wish I could say 100% rust free but I cannot. I can strongly say 98%. 8. AC does not work. Blower does not go on. Do not know why. 9. Outer Door lock is missing from passenger door 10. Interior door handles need to be adjusted. Can open the door from the outside of the car but once the interior was done the inner door handles do not operate. Linkage is attached just does not move far enough to open the latch. 11. Front bumper will need to be fixed or replaced. Slight damage to it. 12. Glove box liner is missing. For those who know Lincolns. this can and will be a 45-50k car. I am pricing the car to fair market value as to what it’s worth at the current time. This is a fair amount for anyone who wants to purchase it. Dealers and resellers this is the car for you. YOU WILL MAKE MONEY ON THE CAR!!!! If you know how to work on Lincolns. or you have someone working for you that does there is money to be made on this car. The reserve is set so the average DIY'er can fix the car and you will have less money in the car than the value of it. I have set reserve for the car much lower than I wanted to because of the top not working. I am basing the reserve as if the car will be purchased without the top working. The top never caused me an issue before and always worked so I am sure it is something minor. I just do not have time to work on it and figure it out. I will help with shipping if you need me to but fees will need to be paid by you. Car is also being sold locally so we have the right to end the auction at any time. Non-refundable deposit of $1000 needs to be paid with 24 hours of the auction ending. If you have zero feedback you must contact me first or I will have your bid removed. Remaining Balance needs to be paid within 72 Hours or contact me. If you don't want to wait and you want to buy it now. please contact me so we can discuss it. Please don't ask me what reserve is because I am not going to tell you. This vehicle is being sold as is and there is no existing warranty or guarantees on the vehicle. Thank you for looking at a timeless treasure.
