Description for Lotus Other 1967

Hello eBay Bidders,
You are viewing a 1967 Lotus Elan S3 project car. I purchased the car in 2010 as a project car, nd at the time, t was completely apart. The previous owner had started the restoration by stripping and painting the frame (the correct Red Oxide Epoxy primer), ebuilding the motor, nd restoring much of the suspension. The motor was machined at Danbury Competition Engines and assembled by the previous owner (who is a restoration and automotive expert). It has new motor mounts already installed, s well as a spin off oil filter (see photos) I do not have paperwork on the rebuild because it was one of a batch of engines that were machined and built that year. The engine is currently on a stand waiting to be installed (please see pictures).
I accomplished 4 major steps towards the restoration:
1) Spending a lot of money on collecting the some of the needed parts. Please see the photos of thereceipts from RD Enterprises, ed Hill, ustom Spares, nd eBay.
2) I enlisted the help of a friend who has 20 years auto body experience and rotisseried the car, epaired any needed fiberglass areas on the underside, anded, rimed, nd painted the bottom in two part black epoxy paint. The bottom of the Elan looks to be back to"factory new".
3) Completely rebuilt the brakes. Split the calipers, emoved the old pistons, leaned the brakes inside and out, ainted the brakes with high temp paint, nd reassembled them. They have new ss pistons and seals, ads and grade 8 bolts. New hard brake lines were fitted to the chassis along with new fittings and brake sensor. The frame was cleaned and painted the correct Red Oxide Epoxy paint for a second time prior to fitting the new brake lines (it had been sitting around and it was a good time to freshen up the paint and add another protective coating).
4) Assembled the front suspension including new Koni's, rade 8 bolts and etc.
So, s you can see, did not get very far in the restoartion of the car and therefore I feel it is time to move on to other projects. The work that has been completed was done well and it would not take long to have a rolling frame ready, o be reunited with the body. Many parts are new, ome restored, ome need restoration, nd some will need to be replaced.
The car has no title and will be sold with a bill of sale only. Please see the photos below showing that the Elan was purchased from New England Classics as a project car without title.I will help load it onto your truck or trailer if you come on a prearranged Saturday or Sunday. Please look closely at the pictures with many additional pictures below as they show what is included in the auction...I have no way of testing thefunctionalityof any components of the Elan because it is disassembled and therefore the car and all of its components are being sold "as is" without any type of warranty expressed or implied. This could be a great winter project for the right person. Good luck.http://s394.photobucket.com/user/fatcatskinnydawg/slideshow/
