Great running and driving S4 Elan. Southern California car from new The paint is very nice with just a couple of spider cracks, original color was blue. Interior is in very nice condition, no tears in seats or carpet. The dash shows slight cracking of the wood veneer. The soft top has not been used in many years and may be too shrunk for use, the plastic windows are all yellowed. There is a full tonneau that fits nicely over the whole interior.
Mileage is 81815, the valves were adjusted at 80792(1k miles ago). The engine has been rebuilt by the previous owner, hand written notes are not clear as to mileage. It does leak oil from various places. The chassis is rust free.
There are service records dating back to when the car was new ! They are hand written and placed through out the included work shop manual.
The vacuum actuator for the head lights will need to be replaced. There is also an electrical issue with them not working. Same for the wipers and signals, possibly a common ground.Updates include u-joints in the half shafts, aftermarket cooling fan, alternator, electronic ignition. The muffler is a Supertrap and sounds correct.This S4 is a great example of careful ownership and constant upkeep. it is however a 50 year old car and needs the attention of a new owner.
