Offered for sale, rom KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, s this very rare Maserati Khamsin, ne of only 155 U.S. spec cars with a total worldwide production run of a mere 435 cars. These cars are now gaining respect as of one of the greatest Grand Touring Supercars of the 1970's, ith their stunning design, oth aesthetically and mechanically. This car is finished in the very desirable color scheme of red with tan trim, nd the existing red paint is the factory original.
This car was recently purchased from it's longtime owner on the East Coast, where it was residing in a heated garage. This car is hugely original and mostly untouched. It was last running and driving approximately 6-8 years ago. It sustained some light body damage from an overhead door while at a mechanic's shop having the carburetor set rebuilt. The bodywork was repaired at that time, ut the car was never painted and the few items re-assembled. It was stored indoors since then, nd is now available to be purchased by it's next caretaker.
This car is very complete except for the three driver's side glass pieces, hat were apparently misplaced. I'm sure they can be sourced or made. The car includes all the rest of the stainless trim items, ubber gaskets/seals, ear nameplate scripts, ear tail glass, nterior trim panels, arpets, loormats, tc. The car also has a new windshield.
The car's primered areas could be resprayed and blended into the existing original areas, o preserve the car's originality, r a complete respray could be in order. It would also be the perfect time
to return the car's looks to it's attractive European bumper setup. The car is completely rustfree except for a small spot on each lower rear quarter, behind the wheels.
The interior trim is hugely original and in amazingly nice original condition, ith only a few small repairs needed, efinitely commensurate to the car's mileage.
Mechanically, the car was a low-mileage driving car upon being placed into storage 6-8 years ago. A small recommissioning of some components (fuel, rakes, tires) would most likely get the car back on the road again. The very original engine compartment and undercarriage could use a light detailing.
This car includes the original jack in the bag and a partial tool kit.
Overall, this very rare, riginal and desirable Khamsin is clearly the most economically-priced car currently available worldwide. Some very minor restoration work/improvements would yield a fantastic low-mileage driver and a blue-chip investment, n what is becoming a sought after 70's Supercar.
