This vehicle has just been removed from long term storage, the title shows last change of owner in 1989, the last time it ran was reputedly 1994 (License plate shows 1992 Tag). The car was placed into storage, after suffering from a brake hydraulics failure (Master Cylinder). Car has been sympathetically cleaned up, the 3.0 litre motor has been turned over and runs with the aid of an external gas source, please refer to the video. You can hear a leaky header/manifold so please take note of this.

The body of the car is very clean and straight, paint is in very nice condition for its age still giving a good shine. The wheels are the correct gold finish and have been dressed with new tires. The brightwork has aged well and all in all the car shows as a great driver quality survivor. The dash is very good, it has the earlier style gauges fitted and are clean in appearance. The driver's seat is torn due to age, the passenger seat is in good shape but looks a little different in appearance, possibly from a different model?

The front trunk compartment is clean and still retains its factory carpeting, the radiator and fans look in great shape also. The rear motor cover is the earlier bubble type to accommodate the full-size spare, this is a factory alloy as per the other four, not a steel wheel. The engine compartment presents clean, original airbox sits on top of the 3 Webber Carbs just as it should, with the 5-speed transmission sitting just behind the motor. The mileage shows 28,976 actual mileage Texas title from 1989 shows 26,166 low mileage example.

The underside of the vehicle shows underseal on the pans, the rotors have surface rust as you would expect from such a long hibernation. Everything looks complete and just as it should, the only negative of note is rusting in one of the rear silencers, but somethings have to be expected from such a long storage.

Please view all numbers, we have tried to be as clear as possible posting all numbers we have found. In short, we feel this is a great opportunity to obtain a Merak that has been stored for a long time, a great car to freshen up. A sympathetic re-commissioning of this vehicle will be required at minimum due to the amount of time gone by since it was last used. It is a 1974 Model Year titled in 75. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

The car will require servicing and all associated work one would expect to bring this car back up to snuff! That being said we feel that the DIY enthusiast would be able to tackle this car. Even though the car runs we have not attempted to drive it, as brakes will require going through before this can happen (Brake lines are old as you would expect). Car is supplied with Clean Texas Title. The ultimate opportunity to acquire a Merak in what is a rising market for these marques.

We price our cars to sell and this Merak will have a new owner soon.

Worldwide shipping is available.

At our dealership we work very hard to accurately describe our vehicles through text descriptions and elaborate photos. When you purchase a pre-owned vehicle it is not a new vehicle. Any used vehicle can have normal wear and blemishes. Before placing a bid please read the descriptions thoroughly and view all pictures.
