Description for Maserati Other 1972
This is a properly equipped Indy as it includes 4. 7Litre Engine. nbsp;Power Steering. Air Conditioning. and 5-Speed Gearbox. It is an absolute delight to drive. The Indy was Maserati's replacement for the Mexico and served as the 2+2 counterpart to the Ghibli. The Indy was also Maserati's most popular selling car when it was in production. I have been a collector of Maserati Automobiles since the mid-1980's when I acquired a pair of 3500GTI Vignale Cabriolets and have owned virtually every model of Maserati GT cars. I am 6'7" tall and have found Maserati's to be exceedingly comfortable for me (Wilt Chamberlain owned a Ghibli when they were new). And. the Indy is by far the most comfortable of them all. I purchased the car in 2002. The prior owner acquired the car in 1994 from Continental Motors. When he bought the car in 1994. it had 96. 00km (59. 20mi) – now has 101. 00km (62. 30mi). I also note from the Continental Motors Invoice that the car was described as Brown with Biege(sic) Interior. The person I purchase the car from had the car painted French blue and also had the leather died in the current red color. I purchased this car in order to have a driver since I knew that I would not be able to work on my other Maserati’s for a few years while I was building and growing our business. I used this car regularly for 8 years and then parked it for the past 5 years. I just had the hood frame and sheet metal re-fabricated and painted as it had typical corrosion issues. Also just replaced both fuel pumps and performed some other needed maintenance. The original bi-metal Borrani wheels have just been powder-coated and a set of new Vredestein tires were installed. I drove the car Sunday for the first time in 5 years and it performed very well. I look forward to driving it to New Glarus. WI this weekend. The car runs strong and does not smoke but for as long as I have owned this car. I’ve felt that it could use a superficial engine renewal (just hard to justify it when it runs so well) because it does seem to have a bit more engine blow-by than I’m used to. I actually really enjoy the Indy’s because they are truly comfortable and great road cars. I would have never thought to paint an Italian car French Blue but in reality – the car really pops.
