Description for Mazda RX-7 1993
For auction a 1993 RX-7, he third generation of the RX-7,FD(with FD3S for Japan and JM1FD for the USA VIN), eatured an updated body design. The 13B-REW was the first-ever mass-producedsequential twin-turbochargersystem to export from Japan, oosting power to 255PS (188kW; 252hp) in 1993 and finally 280PS (206kW; 276hp) by the time production ended in Japan in 2002. The FD RX-7 wasMotor Trend'sImport Car of the Year. WhenPlayboyfirst reviewed the FD RX-7 in 1993, hey tested it in the same issue as the [then] newDodge Viper. In that issue,Playboydeclared the RX-7 to be the better of the two cars. It went on to winPlayboy'sCar of the Year for 1993. The FD RX-7 also madeCar and Driver'sTen Best list for 1993 through 1995, or every year in which it was sold state-side. June 2007Road & Trackproclaimed "The ace in Mazda's sleeve is the RX-7, car once touted as the purest, ost exhilarating sports car in the world. After its introduction in 1991, t won theAutomotive Researchers' and Journalists' Conference Car of the Yearaward in Japan.Handling in the FD was regarded as world-class, nd it is still regarded as being one of the finest handling and the best balanced cars of all time. The continued use of the front-midship engine (it is not considered completely front engine) anddrivetrainlayout, ombined with a 50:50 front-rear weight distribution ratio and low center of gravity, ade the FD a very competent car at the limits. When you learn about the details is when you fall in love with this sport car. It has a factory (OEM) aluminum front hood, luminum suspension linkage, iberglass reinforced seats (lightweight like racing seats). The first "doublebubble" top design as well as the first rounded corner door design. The door outside handle is not in the typical position, t's kind of hidden, nd the details go on and on...This is the one in a lifetimeopportunityto collect a very low miles FD3, hy this car is collectible? I could start with the exciting rotary engine that expert tuners can extract 500hp without even opening the engine and we don't know when Mazda will stop making rotary engines, ut this was the last rotary twin turbo design for sure. I am not really sure why people look for these cars so much, ut I know for sure that there are some like me that they don't care for collecting them (otherwise I wouldn't sell it) they car about the huge aftermarket parts, ponsors and tuners available that the sky is the limit. This FD3 is not just a rare car, t is more collectible because this particular base model Mazda made only 72 each making it even more rare than the "R1" version. The R1 version came only in mica yellow, ed and black colors. This model is similar to the lighter weight R1 because it has two oil coolers and it didn't come with the rear wiper, ear bose (heavy) speaker and sunroof. The rotaryenthusiasts know better the details of the R1 but the rarest color of the R1 was mica yellow and Mazda made 350 of those. I got another Mazda RX-7 which I am installing a wide body kit, o I don't need this one. I actually don't have the time or space for this one because I just bought a Porsche 930 which is as rare as this RX-7.Fair starting price!, he NADAhighretail price is $20,100. I am including in this auction the two bumper covers (front and rear) which are scratched but they can be repaired and repainted. I am also including the stock intercooler, ir filter box and plastic that go in the engine bay, o you could go back to stock OEM "mode" if you want to. Everything original OEM. The radiator is the thicker polished all aluminum racing aftermarket to make this car more reliable and run cooler (picture included of intercooler disconnected from bracket so you can see the radiator). On top of that the radiator hoses were replaced by blue silicone 3-Ply Nylon high performance and the thermostat was replaced with a temperature switch. The intercooler installed in the car is a front mount polished aluminum (which looks mean!!), he air filters are high flow aftermarket with carbon fiber finish, ther than that the car is stock. The car has also aftermarket LED tail lights but I am including the stock tail lights as well. It has the 99 spec front bumper signal lights but I don't have the original front bumper lights on the passenger side. only on the driver side. Those parts cost thousands of dollars and they are hard to find! Solid body... No rust! These cars are going for over $25,000 in ebay with even with more miles than this one!! The price of the RX-7 is increasing by the minute!! This is a good investment so you could sell this beauty even higher price in the future and make money. The car looks, ounds and feels like a 53k miles car. The power windows, ruise control and everything else work like they are supposed to. The car has an accident history that's why it has salvage title but is a technical word in these days because the parts of this car are so expensive that they don't need to suffer too much damage for insurance companies make them "salvage". The car was even running after the accident, ctually. It runs straight like a railcar. The most impressive parts of this particular car is the interiors. The people who own FD3's know that is very hard top find one with the plastics in the doors and center console intact (without cracks). This one has pretty nice interiors, nd the leather is not ripped on the seats. I will try to posted pictures of the bumpers and engine intake plastic ;) . The body kit has beentrimmedand fitted but not painted. The side skirts needs more work and they are installed only with a couple of screws. The bad: The pop up lights need more work, he driver side is not going up/down and I don't know why ... it should be an easy wiring or fuse issue and it has a spider crack on the lower corner. I got the fixed slick carbon fiber headlights in my other RX-7 (looks better, would do the same to this one). The car is sold AS IS in Houston, X. You are welcome to test drive the car. The engine has good compression and the transmission shifts like it should do, no slipping or kicking). See pics of tachometer (RPM) with engine running...no check engine light. The shipping is not included, ou need to get your own transport company, could help in the loading stage to take videos and pics. The car has no stickers. Title in hand. I will try to get the Texas inspection it if you need me to. Price reduced $1,000!! Good Luck!! Happy Bidding!! NO RESERVE!!!
