Description for Mazda RX-7 1989
I have 2 Mazda RX-7’s for sale, one was my daily driver for many years I love love love rx-7s, the other was a project car that I never got a chance finish. The first one “Gray Primer” was my daily driver that I was in the process of having repainted (original color white) when It stopped running and I never figured out what was wrong with it, just too busy to fix so its been sitting in my driveway for the last 4 years. The problem I was having with it, was that it was very hard to start when the engine was hot but it would start fine when the engine was cold. So one day I was driving home from work and it started running really really badly like it was only firing on 2 cylinders. (I know, rotary engine. Just saying) thank god I was only a mile away from my house. And there it has been sitting every since. I had rebuilt the motor 4 years prior this event (Aktkins Rotary Rebuild Kit and Apex Seals and Springs from Mazda) and it was running awesome until it started having the hot start issues. I am selling the car just as it was when I was driving it wheels and all which are genuine RAYS Versus Campionato SS7 Staggered 18x7 and 18x10.5 http://www.upgrademotoring.com/wheels/ss7.htm with spacers. The transmission was rebuilt at the same time I rebuilt motor by a friend of mine with 25 years of experience working a Frontier Chrysler Service Center. 2 years prior to it breaking down I bought a brand new A/C compressor from mazda 780.00, the A/C works great!!!! the radiator was a year old. I paid 550.00 for the seats and to have them retro fitted. The stereo is an Eclipse 5 volt CD 8051 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9HIEQ1iaw0 with 2 remotes, awesome awesome unbelievable clear sound, with all the amps and Eclipse EQ at least 1200.00 I really don’t remember. The center console was custom made. I have many extra parts and pieces. The suspension has Tokico 5 way adjustable shocks with Suspension Techniques lowering springs. The title is clear and in my possession. VN# JM1FC3319K0700464 I put a body kit on it and molded it on the body I also flared the rear out to give it the proper look for the wide tires in back. The back tires are Pirelli P Zero run flats and the front tires are Kumho Ecsta AST’s. Obviously the sunroof has taken a major beating being out in the elements for 4 years and will need to be replaced. If you use the Buy It Now I will fabricate another shifter ring but I also have a chrome that I bought but used because I felt it too big.
The second RX-7 is a project that I never got to finish. It has been sitting in my garage for 8 years, it has a rebuilt engine with 0 miles on it. yes ZERO!!! also the transmission was rebuilt by the same guy and has Zero!!!!!! miles also. When I finished rebuilding the motor and getting everything in place, I tried to start the car but it didn't start, but I really didn’t try very hard I was just seeing if it would start right up after a couple of tries like the other one did after I rebuilt that engine, but it didn’t, I knew the gas tank needed to be dropped and fresh gas put in it. In the meantime I had put Mobil 1 oil in it. I was talking to a guy that knew a lot about Rotary engines and he told to take the Mobil 1 synthetic out of it because it will mess up the seals. So long story short never tried to start it again because I never dropped the tank and I never got a chance to take the synthetic oil out of it. The radiator is new on this car also. Same deal on the seats on this car. The wheels on this car has Campionato SS7 also they are 18x8’s in front and 18x9.5 in back, they have street use on them. The front tires do no not have a single mile on them, the rear tires are used but have plenty of tread on them. The suspension has Tokico shocks with Intrax lowering springs. This car has a TEXAS SALVAGE TITLE. VN# JM1FC3316K0702561 more stuff!!! I am selling them together but if I get enough inquires about about selling separately I will do so.
