10th Anniversary FC RX7 with Ford 5.0L V-8 swap

This car was bought as an abandoned project and had the V-8 swap performed to enter the Grassroots Motorsports (GRM) $2004 challenge in 2004. The builders returned in 2005 to take the overall win at that event. We then bought it and used it at autocrosses and track days before being put away for several years.

The build was done very well, but on a budget, so work was put into updating the cooling system, doing maintenance, installing a new stereo, and hooking the heat up again. It's ready for daily driver / track day use!

Engine

• 302 (5.0) Ford Mustang V-8 w/Rebuilt Holley 4BBL and Weiand intake
• 5 Speed T-5 transmission
• Three core aluminum radiator and electric fan

Suspension

• Koni coil overs / eibach springs front; Coil overs / eibach springs rear
• Adjustable caster / camber plates in front
• Two sets of wheels and tires:
• Pontiac wheels with old autocross tires
• Original wheels with street tires in front and BFG drag radials on back. These are oldest tires but almost no use, garage stored off the car
• We can negotiate different tires as well as 17" / 18" Mustang GT wheels or 17" Mustang Cobra Predator wheels.

Body

• Zero rust, very clean
• Aluminum Turbo hood
• All original paint
• Decals from GRM challenge event (can be removed at the buyers request)

Interior

• All original black leather in good condition. Minor seam splitting on drivers seat, but no rips or tears
• All original gauges work (except boost gauge)
• Heat works (no AC)
• New aftermarket stereo

This is a very clean build based on a very clean and original chassis. Firewall was modified to allow engine to be installed as true mid-front, with the engine entirely behind the center-line of the front wheels resulting in a 52.5 / 47.5 F/R weight balance. Weight is 2815 lbs with full interior.
