Up for auction is a 1984 380 sl. This car is a 2 owner vehicle. The first owner purchased it new in 1984. She ws the wife of a large business owner. The car was dealership maintained and eventually sold to the second owner in 2006, t had 80,000 miles on it at this time. The second owner was an employee of the company, e has owned it until recently. He drove it sparingly, utting only 2000 miles on the odometer. Currently the car has 82,113 miles.
It comes with a removable hard top and a new chocolate brown soft top. The exterior color of the car is a pretty light beige, aybe even a hint of butter yellow in it. The car has been sitting so it can use a full tune up and maintenance. I did drive it 40 miles today and it drove surprising well. Very solid feeling car, ot clunky or rattly over bumps. Quiet, omfortable ride. Car can use a wheel alignment. Car feels fast with that nice V-8 under the hood.
Car has low miles and it shows, he drives nice, utomatic trans shifts fine. Overall the car sits nice and straight. There are a few rust spots showing. The worst of which are the gas filler area and behind the right front tire, he lower fender area. Please see pics.
Please keep in mind the car is 31 years old. And even though it has been garage kept. it still had bumps and bruises. both on the body and bright work. In my opinion, his car had been bumped around and scratched up sitting in the garage more than anything.This is a preferred year of this model and a low mileage example at that. A perfect candidate to drive, s she receives some TLC.
