Description for Mercedes-Benz 500-Series 1987

1987

Mercedes Benz
560 SEL Sedan

VIN: WDBCA39D6HA305315

If you've followed my Ebay vehicle auctions the past eight or nine years you've noticed we get a fair number of great vintage Benz sedans on a regular basis. A local, ong-term owner passed this classic boulevard cruiser along two weeks ago and after spending just a few minutes behind the wheel I was sold on it as a daily driver or a perfect road trip vehicle. The longer wheelbase of the W126 SEL chassis gives greater access to the rear seat, oo. Take just a few minutes to look over my photos, t's obvious that respect and care have been given it over the years.

The car was purchased new at Phil Smart Mercedes here in Downtown Seattle during January, 987 and it was been in the area ever since. The originalowners manual and service/warrantybooklet are included, s well as a copy of the AutoCheck Report verifying it has been accident-free. All will arrive locked in the glove compartment. The odometer currently reads just over 74,200 and miles are believed to be accurate. I'm sure you'll agree after looking over the car yourself, t's about as pristine and original as you'll ever find!

Please feel free to email, ext or call me with any questions. My direct phone number is 206/914-1173 and my name is Mark Thompson. You're welcome and encouraged to stop by my Auburn, A warehouse to inspect the car and take it out on the road.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Ever driven one of these S-Class Mercedes with the powerful, ullet-proof 5.6 liter V8 engine? What a treat! Smooth is the word for sure. Smooth, owerful acceleration. Smooth handling in the curves or on the highway, oo. Comfort, tyle, nd versatility all in one gorgeous ride. I've always considered these W126 cars constructed through the early 90's as the last hand-built, ruly high-quality Mercedes and have heard others say the same thing. Take a look at the photos and I'm sure you'll agree with me. What you see is the result of a wash and vacuum only. "Time capsule"really is a great way to describe this Benz. It's obviously been allowed to spend a majority of its life garaged because the overall condition is truly better than most any other 27-year-old daily driver you're likely to encounter. Rust? Please, his Mercedes HATES rust and I haven't found any here to worry about. Climb over, nder and around this sedan, know you'll come up smiling!! As a respected Ebay seller with several hundred satisfied Ebay vehicle customers, want you to bid with confidence knowing that this is a great car AND that it is being properly represented.
CONDITION:

In brief, b>this is a clean, ell-cared-for, moke-free Mercedes. I take great pride in the vehicles we sell, eeling that you should know as much about them as possible before bidding. Accordingly, ere's a list of the good and also small things possibly to be sorted out: Hop in, ire up the powerful V-8 engine and it starts immediately! The automatic transmission shifts crisply through all gears, ust as it should. I feel the car runs and drives as intended — immediate strong, teady oil pressure, good battery and properly functioning charging system. When warm, he engine temperature is maintained at just under the 80 degree mark on the dash gauge, o matter whether it's been idling in traffic or plying the freeway for hours. I've driven the SEL daily over the past two weeks, ruised at 70 MPH on a six hour trip to and from Portland, regon and also used it for my 30 mile round trip work commute. The original factory metallic paint is in exceptionally good condition and still holds quite a shine. I find NO fading clearcoat or rust spots. The fenders, oors, ear quarters and floor pans are all solid. The windshield has no cracks and only a bulls-eye chip (out of the driver's sight-line). All four factory wheels are straight and true. They're wrapped with 205/65R15 Michelin Touring Radials each with at least 60-70% remaining tread.

Take another good look at the interior photos. The tan leather upholstery and carpets are all-original with the pictures giving an accurate view of condition. Hop in and feel comfortable sitting on these power-adjusted bucket seats for hours. No visible shrinkage or wear-through spots on any of the leather front or back. This SEL also has the power adjustable, eated rear bench seat (I've never seen another vehicle with a rear seat that moves forwardor back at the push of a button). The dash gauges are as bright and true as the day the car left the factory. The push button heater and fan system work fine. It's quite rare to find a vintage Benz with a still-functioning factory stereo. This Becker "Grand Prix"model radio still works great though I have no cassettes to check the tape player! The extra-large sunroof fully opens and closes smoothly with no visible leaks anywhere on the spotless headliner. All four power windows open and shut properly. You'll find the jack, nused spare, actory tools and even the Mercedes "White Cross"First Aid Kit (it's never been opened) stored in the trunk well as pictured. I'll be sure the rare carpet matched rear passenger footrests are also in place when the Mercedes ships out to the next caretaker. About the only issue left to be sorted through is the A/C as it will need servicing to blow cold. That's about it. Please don't be upset if I've missed a minor flaw or a small amount ends up needing to be spent fixing a problem I'm unaware of. No used car is ever perfect! Having said that, would not hesitate to drive this Mercedes long distance immediately.

I'm always very happy to work with any shipper you choose, ut you're also welcome to do what many of my previous buyers from as far away as Alaska, rizona, he Midwest, anada, lorida, ew York and even the Mexican Baja have done — fly in here to Seattle (I'll pick you up at Sea-Tac International just a few miles away) and then start asummer road trip home!

Please check the photos over closely and call me with any questions BEFORE you place a bid! Because of the amount of money involved with a vehicle purchase, e reserve the right to cancel your bid if you have any negative feedback. I also ask that potential bidders with a feedback rating of ten or fewer transactions on Ebay contact me before placing a bid. Finally, e reserve the right to end the auction early if the Mercedes is no longer for sale or an acceptable offer has been agreed to before the end of the auction period. Please feel free to contact me directly thru Ebay's system or, s outlined above, all or text me at
206/914-1173 anytime. My name is MARK THOMPSON.

A Few Additional Terms and Conditions:

A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of the auction's conclusion. The balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven business days unless prior arrangements have been made with me. I can accept PAYPAL, ut if you plan to pay any more than the deposit through them I'll first need to invoice you and ask that you cover the 3.5% fee charged. Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You're not bidding to hold or then come inspect and test-drive the vehicle later -- You're more than welcome to do this before the auction ends.

If you decide to have theMercedes transported home, here are scores of companies to choose from. I ship vehicles regularly and suggest that you get a transport bid from Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS) at (888) 817-6203. They're EBay's preferred transporter and will give you a fair quote. Call my designated rep, b>Brad Simon, t (908)290-1575 and give him my affiliate number (2362642) so he can pull up all our information for a station-to-station or even door-to-door quote.

As an alternative, ou might also get bids from the U-Ship.com website. You'll be able to choose a transport broker from multiple offers. The zip code for pick-up would be 98002 (Auburn, ashington). The shipping of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER.

Thecar can be stored free of charge at my location for up to two weeks after the auction ends assuming full payment has been received. After that period storage is $20 per day. Though I have NO doubts about the vehicle's road-worthiness or ability to easily manage a long-distance road trip, t is being sold "as-is, here-is" . All information described above is based on the observed condition when thelisting was placed. I've done my best to describe the car as honestly as possible and encourage bidders to contact me with questions.
