Description for Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 1964
Rare vintage 220 SEB sunroof coupe. Manual transmission. This car is very original and shows its patina well. This is a euro car through and through. Unusual champagne color with the coveted Euro headlights, m/metric guages that are working, lthough clock is no longer functioning. Odometer is in kilometers, o we expect the car most likely has 133K (or about 82,000 miles) on it, ut no way of knowing for sure after fifty years. With so few electronics in that era, t always amazes me by starting even after sitting in the garage for months. The car has miniscule to no rust anywhere that I've seen. Appears to have been painted once many moons ago. Interior is in remarkable condition. Seats are some of the nicest originals from this era that I've seen. Clean headliner and woodwork was refinished at some point and shows very nicely. Drive as is while it continues to appreciate in value or would be an excellent candidate for a concours quality restoration. While I've enjoyed the car very much, just do not have enough time to drive it more than a few times a year and I'm ready to move on to a completely different investment at this point. I bought the car from an associate, ho owned her for about 15 years and kept it in the garage of his newer vacation home in the New Hampshire White Mountains, fter buying it from a friend of his who had owned the car for a long time as well. Notice how cool it is to have the original year of manufacture plates for Massachusetts, oo. A collector friend just happened to have these in his family file of plates from decades gone by.
