How much cooler can you get than this iconic 80's convertible? You cant! This car was originally purchased by a realty company in South Miami before somehow making its way to the Midwest where it was well cared for by its previous owner(s). This is truly an iconic representation of 1980's opulence.
In the last few months this car has had a fresh tune-up including plugs, ires, ir filter, nd oil change. The car still has a slight miss at start up, ut warms up nicely and runs well when cruising. included with the purchase will be a rebuild kit for the Fuel Injection Distributor, hat is most likely the cause for the miss. Anti-lock brakes work perfectly. I learned just how well they work on my lunch break today when a car pulled out in front of me!
This is a beautiful car and is well appointed with its real wood trim and comfortable leather seats. there is a ton of leg room for the tall folks as well. This is a roadster so there is no back seat. It also has a full AMG body kit and spoiler, hrome fender trim, eautiful Nardi wood steering wheel, nd 3 piece Mercedes-Benz wheels. The paint looks original and is in decent shape. There are a few small spots of rust starting to bubble paint and behind at least one body kit panel. all appear to be surface rust but not certain. Side skirts of AMG body kit appear to be solid and not cheap plastic. A chrome delete has also been done, robably at same time as AMG kit was installed, nd is starting to flake off. Car is also equipped with gold badges.
A non factory radio was installed when i received the car but was not working, o i replaced it with a very simple Multimedia head unit and upgraded the speakers in the rear with Focal 6x9s and whit Memphis Audio grills to tie the exterior and interior together. Everything on the interior works as it should, ith the exception of the turn signals. They work intermittently due to a relay or connection issue at the relay. Power windows work perfectly and still move smoothly in the tracks. Shift linkage could probably use an adjustment as well. power antenna is inop also.
I've been driving the car the last couple weeks and will continue to do so until it sells, o the mileage will change.
I've been told by a couple different sources that this is a grey market car, ut have been unable to verify that myself. This is also a pre-merger car, o records are scarce with Mercedes-Benz and AMG. I've been doing a lot of research on the car, ut like I said records are scarce, nd this seems to be a fairly rare car. especially with the AMG package and wheels. I've never seen another AMG 450sl, nd I've never come across these wheels on another Mercedes. An original Nardi steering wheel for this car will cost in excess of $1200 on Ebay.
This car is being sold with a VERY LOW RESERVE! As Is Where Is. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping arrangements. Do not ask if I will ship it for you. Not gonna happen! $500 deposit required at end of auction. You have 1 week to pick up vehicle unless other arrangements have been made with me. If no arrangements have been made and vehicle has not been picked up within the allotted time frame, ar will be offered to next highest bidder and you lose deposit!
