Up for sale is a 1993 Mercedes Benz 300TE 4 Matic Station Wagon. It has 114. 00 original miles. This car was purchased from Connecticut 2 years ago where it was stored in a garage and used only on weekends when people came to their vacation home. It did not see snow until 2 years ago. The car is in beautiful condition. the paint shines like new. The interior is tan leather that is like new. It has the optional third seat that appears to never have been used. The back seat also looks to have never been sat on (it has only been used for the past 2 years) The front seats have had factory sheepskin seat covers on them since new. The car is all wheel drive with an automatic transmission. It has power windows a power moon roof. Air Conditioning. CD Changer. and Dual Air Bags. The vacuum lock system works flawlessly. The car currently has 4 studded snow tires on factory Mercedes Aluminum 15" Rims. This car is my wife's daily driver. She drives our 2 children back and forth to school every day. I just had a new alternator and battery installed. as well as new brakes. I hate to sell this car. everyone comments on it's styling and excellent condition. No one can believe it is 20 years old. It handles excellent in the snow. the traction the all wheel drive provides is unbelievable. much better than any Subaru I have driven. The studded snow tires help tremendously. I drive down snow covered roads at 55 MPH without a problem. The minor flaws: The car runs and drives beautifully. but idles a little rough. It has a hesitation off the line. but it does not affect the driveability of the vehicle. It seems to clear up around 1200 RPM's. It has done this since I got it but never bothered us enough to fix it. (Runs the same now as the day we bought it) It has 1 small rust spot starting behind the fuel tank. Also has a dent on the back hatch that I'm told can be pushed out if the inside panel is removed. This caused the "4Matic" emblem to fall off (I still have it). Also has a minor scratch here or there which is expected of a 20 year vehicle. Although the studded tires are great for winter traction. they cause the car to ride a little rough. This clears up in the Spring when I put regular tires back on. This vehicle would be an excellent candidate for a diesel engine swap. which I have often considered. Only selling this vehicle because I have too many vehicles registered and my wife just bought a new car. I cannot afford the insurance on so many vehicles anymore. I would not hesitate to take this car across country today. The oil has been changed every 3000 miles. Due to the age of this car. it is sold as is.
