Description for Mercedes-Benz SL-Class 1967
Originally purchased for a high level restoration, quickly realized that I have neither the time, atience, or expertise to undertake such a project. So here for sale is the most rare of all the W113 "Pagoda" Mercedes SL's. The 250 SL was produced for only 13 months and only 5,200 examples were produced for world wide distribution. Only about 1,600 were imported to the U.S. Even more unique is that this is a European Spec car, ith the higher output engine, ront mounted fog lights, ingle lense headlights, nd no market lenses on the four corners of the car. Other options include a removable hardtop, ower steering, nd four wheel power disc brakes. The brake power booster system has just been rebuilt, nd all engine hoses have been replaced with Mercedes OEM hoses. The transmission is a 4 speed shiftable automatic that operates smoothly and without issue. The engine has just been serviced and tuned, nd runs very nicely, lthough until the engine is fully warmed up, he idle is a bit rough. The interior is very nice with no notable issue at all, ven the wood trim on the interior is in excellent shape. All gauges and lights work, ncluding the original European 3 band Becker radio. The paint shows well with with only a couple of scratches that appear to be related to taking the hardtop on/off. The convertible top looks to be in good condition, ut I have never used it. Some of the bright/chrome work is showing it's age as well. All of the glass is in excellent condition and appears to be original. The tires are near new (90% tread), nd the brake pads show substantial pad remaining. With only 112,400 km (69,700 mile) showing on the odometer, his is a very low mileage survivor. If you're looking for a high quality resto project or a sunny day cruiser, his is your chance to have a famous "Pagoda" Mercedes 250 SL of your own.The car is being sold as is, here is, nd without warranty express or implied. I will accept bank to bank wire transfers, r certified funds. The auction winner is expected to complete the transaction within 72 hours of auction end. Thanks for looking and Good Bidding!
