This 1936 Mercedes-Benz W143 Sedan with Webasto sunroof is a Full AACA classic. It was bought as a basket case and restored in 80s by previous owner who converted car to Chevy 350 V8 power with power steering and front disc brakes. He enjoyed it on numerous AACA touring events.
The car retains many original parts such as VDO speedometer, ombination gauge, hrome side mount spare clamps, osch headlights, ekurit glass, ebasto sunroof with Golde handle, nterior wood trim, oor handles and window winders. Additional original parts not installed on car but included in the sale include the original, our spoke Boschsteering wheel, ne complete original front seat with very early Keiper recliner, nd the passenger metal base and chrome hinges. The original upholstery shows traces of green vinyl and green and white fabric.
The car is titled as 1936 Mercedes-Benz 260 using its order number, uftrags nr, f 242658. The Wagon Nr cannot be located as the data plate is missing. Mercedes-Benz Classic is not able to confirm if this car was originally a 260d diesel or a 230 gasoline powered car. Speedometer is marked T33 pVI. Engine cover is stamped 322.
The frame was modified forward of the side mounts to accept the front subframe, ngine, isc brakes and steering from a 1972 Chevy Nova. The transverse front leaf springs were relocated to the rear where a solid rear axle was mounted. The original gas tank filler was relocated from the side top of the tank and is accessible from the trunk.
The car is being sold with no reserve.
