Description for Mercedes-Benz 300-Series 1980
3rd owner wishes to sell this exceptionally clean original Arizona car..(zero rust factor) Restored to new condition.Everything is in perfect working order.Lengthy list of new parts and systems NADA current values indicate $6k-14.5k average selling price for this 300SD Turbo SedanOriginal MSRP $30,632. WarrantyFor those buyers notfamiliarwith the 1978-1982 300 series Mercedes Benz sedans they were stated byMercedes Benz to be "The Million Mile Car" Having owned and restored several of these 300 series sedans I am wellacquaintedwith theirdependabilityanddurability. This sedan has been driven less than 10k miles per year on average.
This particular sedan I purchased on Ebay last year from the grandson of the second owner. His grandfather had pasted and left the car to him. Having been an original Arizona car and 35 yearsold it showed exterior and interior sun damage even though it had been under cover a majority of the time. As a result I reconditioned the interior and replaced all effected rubber moldings except for the sunroof molding which I purchased but did not install because the sunroof does not leak and works well. The dash has been capped with aMercedesBenz dash cap and gives a newappearance.
The engine and transmission were replaced by the previous owner due to a mistake made by a major retailer's service center in the installationof the oil filter gasket during an oil change. This replacement was done according to the previous owner at 165k miles. There is paperwork to support this and I also retainedcontact information for this seller.
As I indicated in the openingdescriptionthere have beennumerousnew parts and systems installed on this vehicle during the restoration process. It would be my pleasure to discuss allof them if you are interested in this newly painted clear coated sedan(original paint color of course) If you require additional photos please let me know.
I have restored cars as a hobby for about 30 years. I would be happy to remain in contact with you after the purchase. My reason for selling is the accumulation of too many vehicles and the recent purchase of a fishing boat.
To show my confidence in the condition of this vehicle I am offering warranty coverage of 12 months or 12k miles depending on theanticipateduse and propermaintenance.
