This car has been quite the journey. I bought this MB 300e on eBay October 2014. I looked at the pictures and contacted the seller and asked questions. The seller explained that they had a new transmission seal installed before storing the car for the winter and when they went to pull the car out of storage there was a huge puddle of transmission fluid under the car. I made the seller an offer and ended up purchasing the car. I was told by the seller that the car ran perfect before this issue. After getting the car back and checking it over I got it running. Other than the typical high mileage lifter tick that most of these cars have it sounded good. Now for the fun stuff! I added fluid to the transmission and it was leaking badly. So we pulled the transmission and found that the repair shop broke the transmission case. I bought a rebuilt transmission and installed it. That part is now resolved. I then did a full tune up and checked the fuel pressure and found that one of the fuel pumps was weak. So I flushed the fuel tank and installed two new fuel pumps and a fuel regulator and fuel filter. Fixed that problem. The cars electrics were acting funny so I did some research and found that if you jump these cars there is a circuit breaker that goes bad and causes electrical problems and sure enough it was bad so I installed a new one plus a new voltage regulator and a new battery. Another problem solved. Next I installed brand new shocks and struts plus four new 50,000 mile tires. Oh I forgot new front brake pads. The next issue the air conditioning did not work. After inspection I found that a seal was leaking so it was replaced and the air conditioning was recharged. This car has climate control which works perfect and now the air conditioning blows in the forty's and the heat will bake you. While testing the air conditioning I found that one of the auxiliary cooling fans was not working so I bought and installed two new ones. The exhaust system was bad so I installed a new one from the converter back. The first pipe and muffler are factory. I decided to install a performance stainless steel muffler on the rear section. It is a little louder than I like but the kids think it's cool. The wheels and emblems are plastic dipped and can be peeled off. Also the graphics can be removed. The third brake light is a skull that eyes light up. The original cracked from years of summer heat. Every one I have found used has the same cracking issue. The interior is fair but the front seat bottoms are bad. I have another set that needs recovered. The front seat backs were replaced with used ones.

After all this I have driven over 15,000 miles without issue. It has always started and has never let me down and gets 25 mpg.

The only reason I am selling this car is that I have been looking for a Volvo 850 and finally found a great deal on one. The car has a few minor issues. The cruise works when it wants to. Passenger rear window is the same. The bulb out light is on because I have LED tail lights installed. When it is cold the SRS light goes on and off. I am told it is a sensor and none of these issues effect the way the car performs. The paint is OK but is far from perfect. Also the car comes with a trunk full of new and used parts.
