Description for Mercedes-Benz 300-Series 1984
You are looking at a very good condition '84 Mercedes 300 Turbo Diesel. This was my daily driver from '05-'13. and if I had the garage space to keep it I wouldn't be selling it. Cosmetically it is in very good condition as seen in the pictures. There are a few small dents and scratches as to be expected on a car of this age. as well as some minor rust bubbling in the driver-side rear wheel panel as shown in the photo. The interior leather is all original and in great condition. There is some minor pilling on the roof and door frame upholstery. Mechanically it runs very well. A little slow out of first and second gear but really cruises powerfully into the third and fourth gears of its automatic transmission. There seems to be a small coolant leak which I haven't taken the time to locate. I've just been topping up before long drives (1-2 hours) and it runs fine. What leads me to believe there is a coolant leak is that I will put coolant in. then very slowly over the course of a week or however long between drives. it drains out because I have to add more coolant before driving it again. There's not like a huge puddle on the ground or anything but the coolant is clearly disappearing somehow. I mean. you're not going to be able to drive this car very far outside of Chicago without addressing the coolant issue (I only use it for short trips around the city) so please be aware of that before you bid. The power locks no longer function but the sunroof and windows work fine. The AC does work. however the air that it blows is not cold. It might just take a Freon charge to get it going. but I've never tried it. so I'm not sure. The original radio was replaced by a 3rd party CD player and both this and the radio are in working order. Expecting to sell this 'as is. where is'. but please feel free to contact me with any questions. Happy to provide additional photos on request.
