It is documented 2 owner vehicle from new. with only 138. 00 documented and well cared miles (only about 3. 00 miles per year!!!!) It was purchased Brand New by a Doctor in Orlando. Florida. and then in 1990 it was purchased by its second owner. who also resides in Sunny Florida!!!! Bill of sale from the Second Owner from 1990 is included with the numerous maintenance and service records!! Besides being a 2 owner vehicle. this SEL comes loaded with very rare Sunroof as well as ultra rare floor gearshift options!!! Few vehicles are as distinctive and unique as the 108 and 109 chassis Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Although there are other vehicles that are instantly recognizeable - the Gullwing Mercedes. the '57 Chevy. and the DeLorean to name a few - there is no other vehicle so classy. yet affordable as a 108 or 109 chassis Mercedes-Benz. These models also made their way into many shows and movies - and still do. even to this day. From Seinfeld ("The Jimmy") to The Simpsons ("The Bart Wants What It Wants"). and every genre in between. the 108 and 109 will live on forever. The 108 and 109 Chassis Mercedes Benz vehicles are the last truly hand-built S-Class Mercedes vehicles (aside from some current AMG models). They were also the last vehicles with the infamous "Mercedes look" - stacked headlamps (on North American versions). curvy hoodlines. and a very large front grille. To this day. many people can still recognize their lines as distinctively Mercedes. even if they were not even born when the model was still in production. The Mercedes-Benz W108 and W109. styled by noted automobile designer Paul Bracq. were built in Stuttgart in what was then West Germany. from 1965 until 1972. Although production ended in 1972. some vehicles were marketed and sold as 1973 model year versions in North America. They were typically late-production vehicles. and some didn’t arrive in North America until 1973. This Beauty was born in June of 1972. and it was titled as a 1973 Model. making it one of the last models rolling of the production line!!!! Mercedes made only 8. 73 280SEL 4. 5 V8’s in period from 05/1971 until 11/1972. and this beauty is one of them!!! Also. 4. 5 V8 was only offered to the North American Market. making it particularly desirable in Europe! About the car: Its Astral Silver (#735G) paint has a beautiful shine and luster. and it makes this German Luxury Sedan look very elegant and timeless!! It was repainted once in 1988 to its original color. and it still shows beautifully today!! There are some small imperfection in the paint mainly due it its age (26 year old paint job!). but nothing that takes away from its beauty!! Chrome is in beautiful condition. complete with healthy luster. and this beautiful sedan is a head turner and conversation piece everywhere it goes.
