1979 Silver Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9

The 450SEL 6.9 served as the flagship vehicle for the Mercedes-Benz line at the time and saw very limited production. Only 1816 were sold in the United States! It was the quickest, ost luxurious, ost technologically advanced S that money could buy.The powerful 6.9 liter, -cylinder engine gives a roar that can’t help but induce a smile. This vehicle was part of a private collection of a dealership owner and kept as original as possible. It includes ALL ORIGINAL books and parts, xcept for an aftermarket Sherwood radio and a non-original exhaust pipe to accommodate the catalytic converters.

The interior is extremely well preserved and clean with all leather seats and wood trim showing only minimal wear. Features include power windows, ruise control. There is some repairable rust on the rocker panels. The self-leveling hydro-pneumatic suspension needs to be reworked and the air conditioning system needs an overhaul and should be converted to a more eco-friendly version for today’s standards. The original mileage shows correctly at 100,846. The M100 engine runs like a dream and the transmission shifts smooth, ithout hesitation. It would be a great find for any collector or enthusiast for refurbishing.

In 1934, arl Knauz began with a Desoto dealership, ollowed in 1941 by a Chrysler dealership, hich we had for many years untilwe retired the dealership to make room for our Hyundai franchise. The sixties saw the arrival of Land Rover, ollowed by the arrival of BMW in 1971. In 1986, he Knauz family purchased the parcel of land in Lake Bluff where the Autopark currently resides. BMW was the first franchise moved to the Autopark in May of 1995, ollowed by Mercedes-Benz in September of 1997. Our Land Rover Center opened in August of 1998, nd on September 10th, 001 the last of the dealerships moved out of Lake Forest into what is currently home to Knauz Hyundai. This building also houses our Collision and Detail centers and our corporate offices. The next few years were filled with further expansion with the addition of Knauz MINI andthe almost doubling of ourBMW and Mercedes-Benz service departments. Knauz North Pre-Owned Center, ocated approximately one mile north of the Autopark, ame soon after. The Knauz Autopark strives to meet your automotive needs today and for years to come.
