Description for Mercedes-Benz Other 1929
I have for sale here a fun little car that I and another person put together. It starts with the Kit from Classic Motor Carriages in Florida (they have been out of business for quite a while). The donor car is a 1975 Ford Pinto with an automatic transmission. I got everything working on it so that I could have Virginia DMV inspect it so I could get ittitled in 2004 and the guy from DMV has it titled as a 2004 Specially Constructed Vehicle which I didn't want but could do nothing about it at the time. Right now it is in need of a lot of love, I have not had the time to play with it for several years now and I hate to see it sitting there not being used. The good is that everything but the windshield wipers work, they are out of an old VW beetle so there are lots of parts around. The bad is that although I had it under a carport it was not completely out of the weather. The Chrome plating has rusted through most everywhere. The tachometer was bad out of the box and was never able to find one that I liked so there is just a small one in the hole right now. I never finished installing the carpet and the engine is in need of work as well, it will run but not great. I went to have it inspected and there were a list of things that need to be done including replacing the brake lines and the tail light lenses because they have faded and are no longer red. I have the original assemble instructions, lots of spare Stainless Steel bolts and screws that I purchased, I did not install the running boards because I found it was easier to get in and out of the car without them but I do have the hardware and one of the boards to fit it.
In a nut shell this is a great car that needs someone who can bring it back to life. If you have any further questions please ask, if you want more pictures please ask and thanks for looking.
