Description for Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 1973

Excellent example of Mercedes Flagship model for 1973, the last year the iconic W108 style was made. The big 4.5 fuel injected V8 runs smooth and really romps. Runs and drives well.Shifts smoothly.Steers, brakes and performs as a Mercedes should. Truly legendary styling. An excellent low-mileage, well kept 280 that runs and drives as it should. A real head-turner.
Body in excellent shape, no known accidents. The handsome glossy maroon paint with black roof shines like new. Only a couple small nicks and a slight blemish on the roof. All chrome in excellent shape, glass all good. Chrome wheels pretty good although some flaking on 3 of them.
Recent tune up and thorough check, all cylinders have high compression, new plugs, condensor, battery, distributor. Also front brake rebuild, fuel tank cleaned, new fuel pump and filter.
Interior upholstery excellent. Has sheepskin on driver's seat but not to cover any problems, the seat is perfect. Electric windows all work. Driver's side has manual window. All mahogany has been refinished to a high gloss. New mats. Very clean. No pets, no odors.
Has an upgraded radio CD with Alpine amp and speakers. Trunk clean. No rust.
Odometer disconnected by former owner while working on it, not re-connected so it has about 70 miles higher than actual. These are only 5 digits so actual mileage is 106821. Engine was replaced about 1000 miles back with a certified used engine with 69k miles so lots of life left on it. Have receipts. Little gear indicator in dash is not moving, just a small spring that needs to be re-attached I'm told.
The 280SE has become more and more of a collector's car in recent years. Here's a terrific example of the best of the best that will be a delight to drive and a sound investment.
