Very clean example of the legendary MB sedan. They only made this body (then outgoing model) with this 4.5 liter fuel injected V8 engine (to be introduced in the next generation S sedan) for part of 72 and 73. I have had this car for 16 years. Have put a lot of time and money keeping it in good shape. I have a long list of rebuilt, replaced, and repaired parts that go back that long. Mechanically it is in very good shape. New tires all around last year (older ones only had 13K miles on them but were 14 years old). I Just put a new battery in it, changed the alternator, and had the transmission and torque converter completely rebuilt (it alone was $2200). Body is in good shape. I had it stripped to metal and repainted when I bought it. I have always kept in the garage and don't take it out if raining or too cold ... but every time it goes to a mechanic, it sits outside. Some areas, particularly around the wheel wells, have started to bubble. It could use a buff and wax which I have not done in a few years, and it still looks better than any I have seen on the road or on eBay at anywhere near this price range.Interior is in exceptional condition.New OEM carpet including custom mat for trunk. Just look at the pictures. I have more pictures if you are seriously interested. Or come see it for yourself :) I'm just not using it any more. I think I put less than 100 miles on it last season. It needs someone who appreciates and uses it regularly. Please bid if you are seriously considering buying this 44 year old beauty. No low-ballers please. Thank you.
