Hood. doors. tops. trim. glass. nbsp;engine components and interior have been removed to inventory and to determine the requirements for the necessary restoration and will come lose. boxed and in bags with the car. The car is still on its wheels. steers and can be moved onto a trailer. Original fenders and quarter panels could be saved if desired but require work. I purchased this car as restoration project. it does not run but the engine turns over. Please see pictures for details. Over time I have acquired many new parts that will come with the car (see listing below). My intention was to restore this car to absolute rust free condition with no shortcuts being taken and to convert it into a European version (different headlight and bumpers) using the original color codes for interior and exterior. So far I have collected most MB parts before hand to assure that the project would never stall or stop due to a missing. critical or unavailable components. All parts were purchased through MB or reputable MB restoration businesses and allow a restoration to a top notch level. Floors and trunk bottom are available aftermarket since no longer supplied by MB. As you can see in the pictures the SL is currently Burgundy with a black top and Crème interior. Trim tag and research with the MB classic division has revealed that the car and top was factory painted in dark grey G173. mid grey MB Tex interior and a light grey top combined with factory green glass. An absolute beautiful combination. Also this is a very early SL manufactured in late December 1967 and was delivered to a dealer in Arizona. The only items missing are some of the door and fender aluminum trim pieces and the steel rims are not from this car. The front grill surround and wings have been rechromed and the star is fully intact and in beautiful condition. Oil cooler and radiator still holding fluids with no leaks. The factory equipped Becker TR radio was unfortunately lost over the decades but the Becker Classic Division in NJ has restored matching units on the shelf.
