Description for Mercedes-Benz 500-Series 1991
!!____REDUCED____!!Selling my 1991 500 SL
She has the dependable 4-speed, with the stronger earlier 4-valve m119 v8 with accelerator jet, before they arguably downgraded to the 3-valve m113 later on.
I intended to hang on to her as a golf/weekend cruiser, however I no longer have the space to store her.
This car is in great shape, all panels straight, paint is great, engine runs great, starts right up and pulls smooth through the gears.
The car has a great service history by the single prior owner.
The Convertible top must be manually put up and down. However the canvas is is perfect shape no fading or tears. The plastic windows are soft and pliable but opaque. Hydraulic actuators have been removed and boxed ready to be rebuilt. The top worked well when I got her, but after a few cycles began leaking fluid. It was my intention to get them rebuilt and reinstalled. It is not terribly difficult to do.
Radio needs code, I leave the battery disconnected when garaged and don't bother with the radio, although it powers on fine so I have faith it will work.
Transmission shifts firmly and smooth.
Car drives perfectly straight, and suspension is firm as well.
Tires have plenty of tread left.
No visible leaks, doesn't seem to burn any oil.
Car is under-coated
Here's a video of engine running: https://youtu.be/waj1p_LSm-g
Car has Indiana Salvage Title with no known reason for such Titling. The car is easily able to pass a rebuild inspection. (Next step if unsold)
Car is sold as-is.
