Immaculate 1991 Mercedes 300SE sedan in almost MINT cosmetic and mechanical condition with 103. 00 miles. ONE OWNER CAR until 2014. It has been impeccably maintained- I have ALL the service records dating back to 1991. This has always been a West Coast car (bought and lived in Northern California). so there is zero rust. It has always been garaged so the exterior and interior are almost MINT. This car was purchased in 1991 by an elderly couple who drove it very infrequently and maintained it impeccably. I bought it from them in 2014 to use until I could find an almost equally extraordinary Mercedes wagon (I just did). This is not a restoration. this is a finest example of an original stock car. The engine/drive train runs strong and smooth and is incredibly quiet. The body is totally straight and tight. The suspension/steering rides/handles like a dream. The paint. chrome and rubber are in almost MINT condition- no dings or dents. The interior is almost MINT. Climate control is perfect- AC is very cold- heater is very hot. Sunroof slides open/closes perfectly. Door Lock system works perfectly. All seat/headrest/mirror adjustments work perfectly. Everything fits perfectly. Stereo works and sounds great. Even the cassette player works perfectly. Nothing is lose. broken or out of alignment. There aren't even any rattles. I can keep going down the list. but everything about this car is awesome. Even the trunk carpet is perfect! Driving this beauty is like driving an agile high performance bank vault. It has been said that driving this car is like dancing with a fat lady who REALLY REALLY knows how to dance Solid. stable and heavy. but nimble and fast. It drives far better than any modern Mercedes and just about every other modern car as well. The W126 series were the best cars Mercedes ever made. It was produced at the peak of their engineering prowess- where everything was made to be perfect and durable no matter what the cost. After the W124 and W126 series. it all went downhill when Mercedes started cost cutting measures to compete with Lexus and Infinity. This is a 24 year old car. so the car is strictly sold AS-IS. However. this is a car that with only a little bit of elbow grease can easily be a show car. Things that function and look almost perfect: EVERYTHING with the following exceptions: Problem areas: Tiny rock chip on windshield. A few tiny scratches/chips in paint. Rear bumper rash. Cold starting takes 3 seconds. ot one. Slight surface wear on leather seats. Radio antenna is noisy going up and down. That's it. Nothing more. I could have not mentioned these things and most people would never have noticed them. The car is available for inspection in San Francisco. I only live there part time. but will try my best to make myself and the car available. Although I love my new wagon. I am seriously going to miss this car. It is better in every way except for its hauling abilities. which is why I have to let it go. :-(Note- I see that Autocheck shows this as a 3 owner car. In 2013. the title was transferred to the wife after her husband- the original title holder- passed away. I purchased the car from her in March 2014.
