Description for Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 1964

Looking to sell my 1964 fintail. I believe the odometer reading of 39. xx miles to be correct due to little wear on the pedal covers. She has a 2. 2liter straight 6 with twin carbs and a 4speed manual column shift. The car has an interesting story behind it. but I can't guarantee that it's true. The elderly lady I bought it from told me this: Originally the car was purchased new in the Chicago area by a man with the last name of "Schinkler" who was an ex Gestapo agent that fled to the US after World War two. he stored it for 20 years because he could no longer drive it. his grandson purchased it and drove it for a short time while he was attending university in the Chicago area. he proceeded to sell it to the lady I bought it from who owned it for 3 years. The car has minor surface rust. but no rot. Floor pans are very solid. The car runs and drives smoothly. shifts are smooth. She's a freeway flyer! The only issues that I see mechanically are as follows: Passenger side front brake is sticking. I believe it needs adjusted. the brake pedal sensor in the engine bay that activates the brake lights needs replaced. small gas leak from under the car that only drips after you park it for a short time. The carburetors were just rebuilt by the professionals at Roberts Automotive in Springfield Illinois. feel free to contact Dr. Bob at (217) 408-4869 and inquire about the car. he has done all maintenance for the last 3 years. New tires. clutch. regular maintenance. The car is very original and with a small amount of work could be a much nicer car! I have a box full of OEM parts. some dating back to the 1960's. as well as original booklets. paperwork. and the salesman's business card. The original houndstooth seats are covered with high quality vintage red seat covers (not autozone junk) after years of use they have started to wear away. that's how you can see the original seats underneath. The car has the original "220b" radio delete plate. the steering wheel is in good shape with minor hairline cracks but no missing pieces. the grill is in excellent condition. the dash is not cracked. the spare tires seems to be original. Like I said. the car isn't perfect but it is very original and. at least where i'm located. is a very rare car to see in this condition. Please contact me with any questions. or if you would like more specific pictures. I am willing to ship out of the country. if you are serious please let me know and we can work something out. I am posting the car with no reserve price. Thank you. On Jan-15-15 at 08:16:25 PST. seller added the following information:Small rust hole on rear bumper.
