Description for Mercedes-Benz SL-Class 1986
The car is in overall nice condition. Its a driver, not a show carand its reliable. My focushas always been on keepingthe mechanicals sorted first and focus on the cosmetics second so there are certainly areas that could use some paint (hard top & trunk lid) slight tear at the top of the passenger side of seat, missing passenger seat trim at hinge..but they werenot things that I felt had to be done to enjoy the car. The car hasalmost no rust, most importantly under the car looks good. The convertible top is in good condition andI just replaced all of the door seals. Ihave extensive service records for the car andwill provide in a binder with the sale. I genuinely enjoy driving the car and every time i take it out i get the thumbs up. The car has a replacement engine that has approximately 98,000 miles on it. The car overheated and i did not want to take the chance of something more than the heads being effected by the overheat so I elected at much greater expense to install a good used engine from a reputable mechanic shop that specializes in Mercedes. While the engine was out there was a substantial amount of other work that I elected to have completed. All in all I have invested over 11,000 into the car in the last three years.I can send even more detailed pics of the engine, undercarriage, etc upon request. I did not have any intention of selling it but with a young son that has private school tuition, I unfortunately don't have a choice. I will probably be stuck buyingit back in five years for twice the price. The car has and will continue to be on my "bucket list" of cars,I enjoy driving it every timeI can, my kids love taking it for a ride with me.I am sure you will enjoy it too.
