1965 Mercedes 220 S Sedan

Description for Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 1965

Really think I bought it in 1988 but the title claims I bought it in 1985. Car had been in constant use but it had a problem and it had been taken to a shop and things began to be stolen from it so they brought it back home and sold it. I think the radio and emblem were what was taken. The head was off and showed severe corrosion in one or more combustion chambers. I guess from a leaking head gasket. I bought new valves and guides and gaskets and had the head worked on by a racing shop in Anderson. Then they said they could not correct the pitting. I bought a parts car and took off a good cylinder head. radio. and carburetors. It would be good to remove the valves and guides from the one head and put them in the other head. Not sure how good the bores are by now. I greased them at the time. Car has been on the wood floor of a barn covered most years. At some point a thing hit the roof on the drivers side. denting the roof in that spot. Front seats have not been good. Back seats are good. Both pairs of carburetors are in the trunk with the Blaupunkt fm radio.
