PA. 19085 Not Lumberton. NJ *I am listing this for a friend who presently has too many cars. This SL500 Mercedes was purchased by the previous owner at Meridien Imports of Houston. Texas about 20 years ago. I have no other previous history. The eBay listing would not accept the European VIN number The VIN Is #WDB1070461A029653 The European 500SL is the highest horsepower R107 chassis SL ever built by Mercedes-Benz. it’s also the fastest. and it’s lighter than similar U. S. models. While the U. S market got the 560SL. they were strangled with lots of horsepower robbing emissions equipment and the additional weight of large DOT bumpers. There is little doubt that the European 500SL is the most sought after and collectible of all the R107 chassis SL's built between 1972 and 1989The convertible top looks new. including the rear window (the hard top was not removed in years). The Interior is very. very nice. She's not perfect. but an exceptional car that has been garaged and well taken care of. The spare tire is mounted on a original wheel and you will find the factory tools. jack and first aid kit in the trunk. No Accident Damage! A solid body with some dings and scratches from storage. Mainly the right passenger door and the top of the left. front fender. The additional file of pictures will show these flaws much better. The front lower valance is slightly dented and the plastic lower grill in that area is cracked. This 500 SL is sitting on the later model Mercedes wheels which are a little larger than the originals with newer tires. I recently had her out for a little drive. nbsp;she runs cool and shifts smoothly with good oil pressure. The suspension and steering feel tight. she brakes good and straight. There are no strange engine noises. rattles. vibrations. smoke or fluid leaks. This 500 SL was only washed prior to taking these pictures.
