Description for Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 1974
eBay does not recognize the VIN to this Mercedes due to it being an antique vehicle. The following is the VIN:
11466012808477
This is a very nice white over blue, 1974 Mercedes-Benz W114, US Spec, 280 4-door Sedan. The odometer shows 69,408 miles and is accurate. This 280 has the chassis code W114.660, which specifies its engine as the gasoline powered, Inline 2.8L 6-cylinder M110 with the Daimler-Benz 4-speed automatic transmission. This is a very comfortable and smooth driving 280.
The exterior shows slight signs of rust, illustrated in the photos as well a few spots of paint touch-up. Overall, the body is straight and original with all chrome intact and nicely polished. All glass appears to be original and in great shape with no cracking anywhere.
The Interior is nearly flawless, minus the center of the dash and driver's side door storage compartment, also detailed in the photos. The dark blue interior is in fantastic shape with minimal wear on the seats, carpet and headliner. It really looks as if no one has sat in this thing.
The trunk and engine bay are also in great shape with little to no wear/corrosion.
The chassis is solid with minor surface oxidation and segments of original black chassis paint and white body paint where the rockers meet the underside; there is no rot-through or flaking.
This M110 engine starts/idles very well and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly through all gears. Brakes are in good shape and tires have sufficient tread, but could be replaced in the near future.
This Mercedes-Benz 280 is ready to drive as it sits and makes an excellent summer cruiser. It comes complete with all original documentation included from when it was purchased at the dealership in 1974 (see photo for reference). For more info or photos, please email.
Thanks.
