Description for Mercedes-Benz 300-Series 1993
This is my 1993 Mercedes 300D 2.5 Turbo. You will be hard pressed to find a more beautiful, well maintained 300D with only 110,000 miles. I had no intention of selling until the ball joint failed (thank you potholes) on the passenger side. Been my daily driver with no issues (other than glow plugs) since purchased in August 2015. Thankfully, I was only going 10-15 mph around a turn. This damaged the quarter panel and some lower trim. Quarter panel is bowed a bit at top of wheel well where tire got jammed inside. So repairs required would be to suspension and passenger quarter panel. I do not work on suspensions so cannot afford the mechanic's labor to rebuild/replace both on driver and passenger side which is proper way to do it. I would not repair passenger side (ball joint, steering knuckle, control arm/bushings, tie rods) and not address original driver's side suspension. Struts are original and not sure if they need it but that would be the option if doing the front. A/C works great. All power windows, seats, cruise control, sunroof, clock, and power mirrors work. No dash cracks, no seat tears, no vacuum issues, transmission shifts smooth, and engine runs great.
Outside temp gauge is hard to read and rear black trim has some faded spots. The leather cover on driver's map pockethas come unglued so needs to be heated, re-stretched, and glued.
