Description for Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 1972
1972 Mercedes-Benz 250c coupe with Dual carburetor 2. 8 SOHC Powerplant right from Factory The "Dictator. spent all it's life right here in beautiful sunny California. Built in November 1971. VIN *114023-12-006369* One of only 2. 39 U. S. 250C Coupés built that year. This European reserve classic can be a part of a small but nonetheless exquisite stable of legendary automobiles. This 250C certainly is fine example of a vintage Mercedes that is rust free. with new whitewall tires. untouched interior-down to working factory Radio with owners manual. and it's featuring clean and smooth repaint and shiny chrome. It's esoteric knowledge that. despite its model designation. the prestigious 250C Coupé did not come equipped with a 2. 5-liter engine when sold in this Country. Instead. Mercedes stepped up to the plate and installed the famous M130. 2. 8-liter SOHC powerplant. topped by dual Zenith 2-barrel carburetors. right from the factory into all US-models. No computer. no electronic throttle sensors. no fuel injection. but enough power from its 157 teutonic horses to cruise at triple-digit speeds on the Autobahn. all day long. This 250c Mercedes is offered at a well below market price because the owner has moved out of state and could not take the car. In the last few years. the owner started to restore the car to it's elegance by first having the car professionaly repainted. had parts re-chromed and new many new parts replaced which includes new whitewall tires. At some point the owner discovered that the car needed a new head gasket because the oil turned milky and stored it away. Few months later the owner had moved to Ohio and left the car in California. Since the owner is no longer in California. I have the pleasure of selling it. As far as I know the car has had only two Owners and the original owner had it serviced at a local Mercedes dealer since new. This car appears all original down to it's radio etc. The car does start and run but is not able to drive because the head gasket is bad at the very least and needs to be redone. *The Paint shines well. looks sharp but their is a little small scuff by the driver side. (see pic)**All Electronics appear to be working including windows. lights. horn and the Original radio sounds good. **All glass is clean and not cracked. **Brakes work inc parking brake. **Comes with boxes of extra parts which include headlights. trim etc **Interior appears clean with stylish door panels etc but may need some repairs. Carpets have been taken out to be replaced exposing no hidden rust on the pans. The trunks is free of rust. **All the engine parts appear to be present but I'm unable to check the transmission due to not being able to drive it. **Doors open and close from/inside and out. **Mercedes is sold with a clear California Title and can be shipped World wide. closes seaport is Oakland-San Francisco Ca. Please note. this car is being sold-as-is and how and where is and is sold needing a full restoration and must be towed. I have done my best to describe the details but I'm not a mechanic and have never driven the car etc. Please ask any questions before bidding and feel free to check out the car before bidding.
