Description for Mercedes-Benz 300-Series 1984

This 1984 Mercedes Benz 300D is in beautiful cosmetic and running condition for it's age. It has the right color combo with a really exceptional interior. No sagging interior cloth, no rust, good seals and almost new tires. I am the second owner and can only tell you what I know. The car was owned by a man who bought it new and kept it garaged at his house in Bellingham Washington. The pacific Northwest is a great place for cars as there is no salt used on the roads in the winter. The original owner drove the car until his 80's and I bought it from his son. His son told me that his dad took great pride in the car and washed it every Saturday. It seems very apparent that the car has been well taken care of. Unfortunately there are no records to pour over. Regardless, this is a great running car with no transmission issues or another for that matter that I know of. The air conditioning does not work, all power windows work however the rear passenger side window stutters on it's way up. It needs lube. The grommet that supports the antennal has wasted away. I have a new one. The light on the dash faded away and died right before my eyes earlier this week. The speedometer cable probably needs to be replaced as it bounces at speeds slower than 10 or 15 mph. I will make a video before the auction ends and hopefully that will give you a bit more of an idea of how the car starts and runs. There is a plug at the front of the engine bay that must be for an engine block heater. The wheels need to be repainted to make the car stand out a bit more. They have maybe one small scratch on one wheel. No road rash to speak of on the wheels. In the photo in front of the log pile you can discern a couple of the small dents on the passenger side. The driver side by the back door has a swipe. It is not a dent but you can tell when looking close that there was some sort of brush with an object. I love driving the car with the sunroof open and the windows down. I feel like a boss. My intention was to keep the MB and sell my tdi jetta. No one bought my jetta and I live a country life style and don't have a garage to keep this car as nice as it should be kept. Beautiful car that get's lot's of nods from those in the know. I am willing to deliver this car for a fee as far east as Chicago.
