Fast, competent, luxurious, stylish, and built like a tank, they are the choice of many classic car collectors who like to both show their cars and drive them on a weekend getaways. With only 42,435 sunny day miles on its original powertrain, this rock solid 280 SL is pretty close to driving a brand new 49-year-old luxury car as you can get. If you're one of those Daimler diehards who's looking for the ultimate old-school Merc, this two top 280 SL is an incredible find!VIN DECODE :113 = Pagoda SL Production044 = 280 SL1 = Left Hand Drive2 = Automatic Transmission00721 = sequence number ( 721st car off the assembly line )There was reportedly in total only 8,047 of 1969 280 SL's built, and only 4,102 of the 280SL's were sent to the United States. This stunning 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda featured here with 2 tops is available in its original color code # 542G Dark Red, with Tan interior, and a Brown soft top. It comes equipped with a Automatic transmission, power steering, original Blaupunkt stereo radio, solid steel wheels, with correct stainless steel wheel covers. This car looks to have had one repaint and is still in nice condition. You can still see all the original pinch welds in the fenders and hood, which is telling us none of those parts were ever replaced. There are misc chips in the paint that don't show up in our pictures, and the engine bay shows nice, but also shows you that it's a nice driver quality car, and not a trailer queen that's in the six-figure range. The soft top is in great condition with only a couple of minor marks on it. The car is complete with the spare tire, spare tire cover, and jack, full toolkit, with all of its original books and cover pouch. Also included in the sale of this car is a very nice car cover. If you have any additional questions, please call 847-487-2272 or email bryan@customclassics.net.
