Description for Mercedes-Benz S-Class 1970
1970 Mercedes Benz 280SERefurbished to Original Mercedes specifications. an honest example of this hand-built series. This 1970 Mercedes Benz 280 SE has a claimed 44. 00 original miles. This is based on its overall lack of rust anywhere and its clean. all original interior. -This is an honest W108 model that's been garaged it's entire life and has been well cared for by its 3 previous owners. Comes with all original manuals/books. -Nearly $6000 total was spent on refurbishment in the past 2 years alone. including paintwork. interior detailing. and any mechanical repairs needed to make this car work nicely. -A dry & clean California car. this example is 99% rust free. with minimal surface rust only on the typical water drainage/splash areas. normal areas of surface rust for a 45 year old car. -The original engine is strong. and the transmission shifts well. This bulletproof engine is the same powerful engine used in the Pagoda 280SL models from the late 60's to early 70's. -Nearly $1000 was spent in maintenance updates to the car. including tuning of the original fuel injection system. -The wheels were painted the same original light ivory color. and the tires are in good condition. This car drive and handles very nicely. -This car was recently repainted last year in its original Light Ivory color. taking care to choose the correct original color. -The all original Cognac MB-Tex interior is in gorgeous condition. with no rips or tears. The front seats had their springs replaced and are functional and comfortable. -An original-spec 280SE steering wheel from the Mercedes Classic Center was sourced for $750. It really completed the look of the interior and it feels fantastic to hold. -The dash is clean. with no cracks whatsoever. The original loop carpeting is has been steam cleaned and is in beautiful condition. Headliner and visors are original and in good condition. -The original wood in the car is intact but faded. This car comes with a brand new. restored set of wood for the dashboard area bought last year for nearly $1000. -All gauges work. and all lights and buttons are in working order. We did our best to go through the car from top to bottom and bring it back to original working condition. -The sunroof is in working condition. as are all power windows. This car also had a recent valve adjustment and oil change. The chassis was steam cleaned and there is little to no rust anywhere. The goal was to keep this car in the family as an heirloom. due mainly to its honest. all original condition. Unfortunately. a lack of garage or driveway space has forced the sale of this car. I didn't want to see this car parked outside and decided to sell it. hopefully to someone who will continue to look after it and maintain its excellent current condition. This car is priced according to its original. refurbished standard which is very hard to find. It has had nearly $6000 in receipts from the past 2 years during refurbishment alone. It drives very nicely and with a bit of finishing work can be a truly exquisite automobile. It has a clean CA title in hand ready for transfer. My name is Sid. contact me at 949-278-5894 or email/message me for any further questions. Feel free to look through all the pictures. This is a very clean. refurbished 280SE that is true to its original condition.
