Description for Mercedes-Benz 300-Series 1983

This 300SD (W126) is a 35 years, one owner, Florida car. Vehicle is extremely clean and near mint condition. Runs flawless, all services up to date. The seller purchased the car through a local dealer who bought it from the original owner’s estate. Until then, the car was owned and kept in Vero Beach, Florida its entire life. The car was garage kept and has no evidence of cigarette or cigar smoking. Average mileage was less than 3900/year. It has a clean title and clean, one owner, CarFax and Autocheck included.

2017 services included new tires, new battery, water pump, oil pump, oil change, front crank seal, transmission pan seal, oil pan seal. Current seller has done another oil change (July 2018), checked lug nut torque, replaced brakes, discs, calipers, & brake hoses all around, installed new center link and had new alignment completed, in addition to a complete suspension and steering inspection (June 2018). All linkages in the engine compartment lubed, performed a diesel purge, changed fuel filter and gaskets, and pre-filter, and changed pre-filter fuel line (July 2018). Seller replaced transmission shift bushings (July 2018), new EGR valve, complete valve adjustment and new valve cover gasket and A/C recharge (October 2018).

No known issues with the vacuum system. There is a fuel filter, pre-filter and new thermostat included in spare parts tool kit.

The original stereo works as designed, including power antenna, as do door locks, sunroof and washer nozzles. A/C works well. The wheels show some age, but there is no road rash and they are all in good condition, including the spare. The driver side front seat is a bit soft, but appears typical for year and mileage, and all seats are in excellent condition. Headliner is perfect. All 3 of the 12v cigarette lighters work. There are two keys and an OEM owner’s manual, plus a Hayne’s manual. The car has custom Coco Mats purchased by seller (June 2018) and spare 300SD mats.

There are a few signs of small paint touch-up work. There are no dents and largest ding is size of a pin head. There is no evidence of any body work or accidents. There is no rust. Seats appear to have been reconditioned at some point, leather is all excellent. The quality throughout is excellent. There are no flaws in the interior. The car shows in excellent condition in all regards. There are some faint and very light hazing/crazing in the paint on a few random areas, such as front top quarter panels and trunk lid… but they are hard to photograph on white. All switches, gauges, lights and accessories work.

The 3.0-liter OM617.951 turbodiesel inline-five sends power to the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission. Factory rated output was 121 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque, gets 23-27 mpg and easily cruises on the interstate at 85-90 mph.
