Description for Mercedes-Benz 190-Series 1987
Very rare 1987 Mercedes 190E 2. 3 16v Cosworth high performance package. look up the history on this model car and you will see that like any good sports car. the 190E 2. 3-16 offered more than simply a high-revving engine under the hood. Along with a suspension lowered by 15mm. the 16-valver featured a trick aerodynamic package that included a dozen pieces of fiberglass-reinforced polyurethane. among them a deep front air dam. slick rocker extensions and a functional rear wing. As with any car designed to consume large swaths of Autobahn on a daily basis. the 190E is stable at high speed but is known for its sharp steering and handling prowess. particularly when compared to other. heftier and softer. Mercedes models. While that name was a bit of a mouthful for the fastest version of the smallest Benz (known to aficionados by the W201 chassis designation). it referenced the then-exotic 16-valve. 2. 3-liter four-cylinder engine. the handiwork of the engineers at U. K. -based Cosworth. who built the power plants on Mercedes blocks. Good for 185hp and 174- ft. lbs. of torque in Europe. federalization required to meet stricter U. S. emissions regulations saw compression drop from 10. 5 to 9. 7:1 and power and torque down to 167hp and 172-lbs. ft. respectively. While not earth-shattering. it was enough to propel the 3. 10-pound car to 60 MPH in 7. 3 seconds and on to a top speed of 140 MPH. my research shows that less than 1000 of these cars were imported into the US. VIN# WDBDA34DXHF373986 This car is very clean for its mileage of 164k. cash offers only please. Local pickup or Buyer arranges shipping.
