This is an original one owner family car. Purchased new at Garage De France Mercedes Benz in Ithaca New York. All records. meticulous maintenance records. full documentation. 2 keys. data card and books. This car is probably the nicest 300SD you can find in W116 chassis. The car is 100% original inside and out. There is no repaint on any panels. all panels’ factory original paint at 4-5 mils which was the factory finish from MB on the single stage paint. The chrome is excellent. anodized aluminum trim excellent. rubber excellent. Unit body is 100% rust free. Interior is all original MB Tex tobacco code 103. dash is crack free. trim work is flawless. wood perfect. Front seats are absolutely excellent; rear seat has the traditional horsehair sag which was typical on all 116's produced. Carpets are perfect. Carefully look at the condition of door jambs. engine bay trunk. tool kit. spare tire and rim etc. It is complete. Undercarriage is excellent and rust free. front oil pan has a factory under shield. Engine bay is immaculate and retains most of the original cadmium plating. hoses have been changed but single band Norma clamps are still present. Runs ad drives like new. All mechanicals and electrical are excellent. A realistic reserve has been placed on this quality of car. This was a USA only car never offered in Germany in turbo diesel configuration.
