Description for Mercedes-Benz R-Class 1984
Mercedes Benz was already showing its excellence in creating top of the line luxury automobiles even as far back as the early 20th century, but for obvious reasons - namely extreme scarcity - there would be no way to acquire one for any but the most affluent of collectors. This 1984 Mercedes Benz Gazelle Replica ably recreates the Gatsby-esque style of that era and combines it with some welcome modern technology to create a suitably vintage ride that can be had at an obtainable price. Patterned after the open air Mercedes roadsters of the late '20s and early '30s, the head turning ability of this Gazelle is undeniable. It offers that rally-inspired look those cars were revered for, but with a noticeably wider track for more stability and better handling in the real world, as well as a level of detailing from front to back available on only the most well-heeled of the originals - coach-building, as the craft was better known back then, made more common use of customization, especially in Europe. This roadster, titled as an '84, is in good form and stands ready to perform as anything from a parade cruiser to a smile-inducing chariot to usher you around town. Its creme colored exterior showcases contrasting dark brown across the fenders and running boards, and has a nice, smooth texture that combines with a consistent shine from all angles. Unlike many of its inspirations from long ago that afforded no weather protection at all, there's a tan soft top on hand to shield you from the elements, and it's got plenty of miles of service left on it. The camel colored Interior is in very clean condition and, as you climb inside, you'll see that modernity does have some decided advantages. The front bucket seats not only show very little sign of wear, but they're also plushly padded and have a nice contour to them, offering plenty of comfort and support as they loom over fresh-looking brown carpeting. The very sharp looking woodgrain steering wheel sits on a tilting column so that you can put it in just the perfect position, while the matching dash area has been well-kept and has a nice shine to it. Its collection of white faced Vintage gauges are clear and readable and look right at home in this setting with their properly antique font, although a couple of them will need a little attention to have them performing at their best. There's an AM/FM/cassette stereo on hand to provide the audio soundtrack for your journeys, as well as a trio of underdash vents to circulate air around the interior. Just behind the rear seating is a convenient storage compartment and inside it you'll find both a car cover and interior cover to keep everything looking good. Early 20th century engines, despite frequent historical revisionism, were not without their "issues" and could often be unnervingly temperamental. There will be no such worries here, as the 2.3L inline four cylinder residing in this Gazelle's sharply tapered engine bay starts right up and runs strong. It pairs with a 3-speed automatic transmission that makes cruising this unique ride around town a low effort affair. 14" spoked wheels combine with bias ply tires to add to its appealing, vintage look. The undercarriage features modern engineering and construction and a look below shows that it's in very solid shape. This 1984 Mercedes Benz Gazelle replica offers the aesthetics of a bygone era along with some modern conveniences to enhance the driving experience it offers. Call today!
